junhui's eyes were fixated on the male across from him as he zoned out a bit. he couldn't stop the smile that was engraved across his cheeks, not that he wanted to. his heart was going a mile a minute, hands shaking a bit as they were linked with his almost-husband's.
"are you okay?.." y/n mouthed silently, trying not to interrupt the officiator in front of them. junhui nodded quickly, but shortly, his smile growing even more. he was more than okay, he would never be able to describe the ethereal feeling that was settled in his chest in that moment.
".. husband and husband!" junhui finally snapped back to life to hear the end of the proclamation. he immediately pulled the other closer and shared their first, very long, kiss as husbands.

( 11 months earlier )
"jun, where are you taking me?" y/n asked as he was taken around street after street. junhui looked back at him with a mischievous look in his eyes, saying nothing. the two had just finished dinner at one of y/n's favorite restaurants, and junhui said he had a surprise to end the night.
he continued leading his boyfriend by the hand, finally stopping at a back door that, if y/n was honest, kind of gave him the creeps.
"what're we doing here??" he asked again. junhui stayed silent as his heart rate picked up. he unlocked the door and opened it, letting out a bright light that made them both wince a little.
once y/n's eyes adjusted to the light, they met the sight of an indoor greenery area, lit to the brim with fairy lights. his jaw dropped. the scenery drew him in instantly as his stomach ignited with butterflies. he walked around for a moment just processing the surreal experience, until turning around to see his boyfriend on a knee. y/n's heart instantly skipped a beat while tears pricked at his eyes in realization of what was happening.
"wen junhui, i swear if you're doing what i think you're doing.."
junhui couldn't help but laugh a bit and look down as he shakily pulled a ring box from his pocket. y/n's hands flew up to cover his mouth, tears still building.
"y/n, i've loved you for almost five amazing years.. i can't think of anything i want more than this. i'm gonna keep this short so it doesn't get corny, cause i know you don't like corny.." junhui looked away a bit, hoping he was doing well. "but, will you be my husband?"
y/n looked down at him as tears now ran down his cheeks, nodding ecstatically. he quickly got on his knees to join the other and kissed him with more love than he had ever felt. junhui's smile soon broke the connection, taking the ring from it's box to find it's new home on his fiancée's finger.
y/n looked at the ring as he held his hand up in the brightness of the fairy lights before going to kiss him again. his lips trailed from junhui's cheeks, to his nose, to his forehead, to his lips as tears continued falling. he separated himself from the other to wipe them, making junhui mumble an "awh" as he reached to help him.
"these are happy tears, right?"
y/n gave a small laugh and nodded.
"okay, just checking." junhui said as he took his fiancée's face gently in his hands, kissing him for the nth time that evening.

( present time )
"oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.. we're married." junhui said in disbelief. y/n chuckled as the two were making their way with connected hands toward their party.
"don't tell me you're tired of me already, babe."
junhui smiled playfully at the remark and kissed him before opening the gates to the party area. the couple was greeted by everyone now in front of them, cheering and clapping and many tears from loved ones. y/n tightened his grip on his husband's hand, taking in the atmosphere. being in front of everyone he cares about, celebrating his love for his partner under a beautiful starry sky. even the summer weather was agreeing with the evening.
"congratulations, you guys!!" jeonghan said as the couple sat down at their table.
"yeah, this is all so beautiful, i'm so happy for you guys." joshua chimed in. junhui looked at y/n with just about the biggest smile possible, kissing his cheek before looking back at their friends.
"oh no, cheol's crying again.." jihoon said as he reached a napkin toward him. seungcheol snatched it quickly.
"i'm not crying.. my eyes are subject to condensation."
"that isn't-.. nevermind." jihoon responded.
"c'mon give him a break, jun's the first of our members to get married!" chan reminded them. junhui's smile was still glued on - his face should start hurting any second now.
the night moved along with the couple going around greeting their guests, with many laughs, kisses, and hugs. the two were now dancing together slowly, some of their guests joining them on the floor. y/n looked up at the stars, only adding to the ethereal feeling that hadn't dimmed out through the whole day. he sighed in content and looked back at his husband to find the male's eyes already on him.
"what?" he asked as his ears went a bit red.
"thanks for being my forever partner." junhui answered simply. y/n smiled at this.
"well, i couldn't not be. no one can say no to wen junhui." he responded with a bright smile.
