"wait, really?!"
"mhm, jaemin and chenle know about us now."
renjun looked down at his hands as he sat across from his boyfriend at the latter's dinner table. a bashful smile was settled on his lips as he looked back up at y/n.
"are you okay?" y/n asked in worry. renjun quickly nodded.
"i'm good! they were really supportive so don't worry! jaemin especially.. i think he might be obsessed with us now."
"ah, okay. that's good then," y/n said with a small chuckle. "i'm not surprised about jaemin. i mean.. it's jaemin. but them finding out like that was probably not ideal, huh?"
renjun shrugged, still smiling.
"i didn't mind it honestly. now i don't have to tell them and i feel better knowing they're okay with it. i think it'll make it easier to come out to the others too now," renjun explained.
"that makes sense. as long as you're okay then, bub."
renjun nodded again and put down his eating utensils to take y/n's hands.
"thank you for always being here for me, y/n."
y/n frowned at the other's sentiment. he got up a little to lean over the table and place a soft kiss on renjun's lips.
"n/n?"
y/n's eyes stayed on his boyfriend as he sat back down, his brows raised at his nickname.
"hm?"
"..i love you," renjun said quietly. "i know that's a big thing to say but i really do. i don't expect you to say it back if you're not ready though. i just wanted to tell you.."
y/n felt his heart do backflips in his chest, still gazing at his adorable partner. renjun looked back down at his food now. he didn't know how long he could keep looking at y/n without bursting into flames.
"i love you too, renjun."
renjun's faced morphed into slight shock.
"you do?"
"of course i do. i think i've loved you for a while now," y/n responded. he got up again to make his way around the table to renjun's side, taking the male into his arms. "i love you more than i can explain, injunnie."
