That shake out with dust
At the first game of the season
Unofficial
And quiet
Lucky if there's a hundred people here tonight
Those diehard hockey fans
Cheering on the biggest local team
Apparently
They've got two new goalies this season
Maybe they have a better chance now
At making it to the playoffs
But only time will tell
I remember twenty odd years ago
When they used to be the best team
They'd sell out every night
But now
They give tickets away
And barely get enough to pay the concession bill
But it is what it is
At the first game
Of the local hockey season
