The case was unlike any kidnapping case the team had seen before. Turned out the 6-year-old girl that went missing in the middle of the mall had been abducted by her aunt who was jealous of the sick romance her husband had with the child. Her uncle would molest her every night and his wife knew and instead of shielding and protecting the child, she tried to kill her out of jealousy.

FBI Academy, Quantico Virginia

These were the cases Zoey wouldn't miss a bit, the ones that showed you that even the people you're supposed to trust can screw you over and do the most unthinkable things. Everything about the case brought back painful memories from her teen years and her time undercover. "You okay superwoman?" Morgan asked her as they walked into the bau office, "Yea, I'm not gonna miss cases like this but I'm gonna miss you guys like crazy," the blonde agent said to the team. "We're gonna miss you too," Prentiss said hugging the blonde,  "Your welcome back here anytime," Hotch told the agent.

Zoey noticed that Reid was sitting at her desk with a sad look across his features, "Hey Spence, I know you hate goodbye and change, but it's not always a bad thing. I'll still call you guys and we can always go for a round of drinks and catch up. I'm only a phone call away and I'll always be around for you and this whole team," the blonde said. "But I can't picture this room without you- then don't. Even if I'm not here I'll always her here for you and everyone in this room, you guys are family to me" Zoey said as Reid pulled her into a hug. "Promise I'll see you again," he asked her, "I promise," she told him before letting go of the hug and starting to clear off her desk that didn't have much stuff on it.

"Here," Garcia said handing her a picture frame, Zoey took the frame looking at the picture enclosed it was a photo of the team at her wedding with Jay on the beach in Hawaii. The sight brought a smile to her face. "Aww thank you, this is so sweet," she said smiling as she pulled the blonde tech analyst into a hug. "You better call or I'll hunt you down, You know I can," Garcia told Zoey. "I will stay in touch, and if your ever in Chicago we'll go get some drinks on me," The blonde said with a smile looking at the whole team.

JJ's phone rang causing her to take the call as the team hugged the blonde agent and said their goodbyes. "Guys, we got another case," JJ said with a sad look on her face. "Go do your thing and kick ass, until next time. "Zoey said with a smile picking up her bag full of all her affairs as she handed Hotch her gun, badge and credentials before she walked out of the office and over to the elevator.

Zoey took a cab back to her hotel packing everything up before flying back Home for the last time. The flight to O'Hare didn't take long and before she could even realize the cab she took pulled up to Jay's apartment.

Jay's Apartment, Chicago

Zoey paid the driver and started walking up the path to the front door of the building noticing Jay's pickup truck parked in his usual spot in front of the building. The blonde unlocked the front door and made her way upstairs and pushed open the apartment door shutting it behind her.

She could hear talking when she walked in the door coming from the living room around the corner. "Honey, I'm home" she joked kicking off her shoes and walking into the living room where her husband was sitting on the couch with Will drinking beers and watching the Hawks game. "Hey babe, how was work?" Jay asked from the couch as she walked over setting her bag down on the floor before sitting on his lap. "It was alright considering it was my last case," she replied earning a look from the Halstead siblings. "So like your done- done?" Will asked her as the blonde revealed her empty holster and no credentials. "I'm officially a civilian," she replied unsure of how she felt about it. "I'm gonna be honest I didn't think you'd actually resign," Will said taking a sip of his beer.

"Why is that?" Zoey asked him confused, "Because you're a bit obsessed with your job and the cases," her brother-in-law says. "Not my job anymore and not my cases remember," Zoey pointed out walking into the kitchen and looking for some tequila with no luck. "How about we go to Molly's and have a few drinks?" The blonde suggests walking back into the doorway of the room. "Your out of tequila aren't you?" her husband asked from the couch with a smirk as he took a sip of his beer. "No... Maybe. I'm gonna go change and I'm buying drinks tonight so you better not let me drink alone," Zoey said walking over and placing a kiss on her husband's lips. "Well, if your buying I guess I'll go," he joked causing Zoey to roll her eyes at his sass before she walked over to their room and changed into a pair of black skinny jeans and a black Three Day's Grace band shirt throwing on her on one of her husbands flannel long sleeves leaving the shirt. The blonde threw on a pair of black closed-toe high-heel wedges.

Zoey walked out of the bedroom and over to the mirror in the hall looking over her reflection and her slightly overgrown undercut. "I'm still pissed they shaved half my hair for my undercover. It's gonna take years to grow out," she sighed giving up on putting her hair up in a ponytail when half of it wouldn't stay up. "You are still the most gorgeous woman I've ever met," Jay said walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist before placing a kiss on her cheek. "I love you," she said softly looking at her husband's reflection, "I love you too," Jay said softly kissing her cheek again. "Okay love birds, are we going or what?" Will asked from the door causing Zoey to laugh and walked over followed by the detective.

Molly's Bar, Bucktown Chicago

It didn't take long for the Halsteads to arrive at Molly's bar where they were greeted by Herrmann, Gabby, Matt Kelly and Stella Kidd. "Look what the wind blew in, The Halstead's," Kelly said noticing his sister appear through the doorway of the small neighbourhood bar along with Jay and Will. "Hey Kells," Zoey smiled walking over and hugging her older brother. "So how long are you back?" he asked her, "For good, handed in my badge and gun before I came home," she replied. "No way, you actually resigned?" he asked surprised, "Why does every seem so surprised, I'm sorry my brother's manners are lacking. I'm Zoey, Kelly's sister," she said holding her hand out to the brunette. "Stella Kidd, nice to meet you," she said shaking the blonde's hand. "I know," Zoey replied earning a look from both Stella and Kelly, "Kelly mentioned you work for the FBI? that's really cool" Stella said. "Yeah it was, I guess he forgot to mention I resigned." She said.

"Hey I got you a drink," Jay said walking over and holding two shots as he handed one to his wife. "I said I was buying," she complained taking the shot. "And what kind of a husband would I be if I let you buy me drinks?" he asked as they walked over to a table and took a seat leaving Kelly and Stella alone to continue their conversation. "To new beginnings," Zoey said holding up the shot. Jay cheers holding up his shot before they both railed the tequila shot down.

A drink was set in front of the blonde as Voight caught her attention, "Can I sit?" he asked her causing the blonde to nod pushing the chair out with her foot. "Of Course Sergeant, what's this?" she asked pointing to the drink in front of her. "Whiskey and coke, that okay? I can get you something else- No it's alright. What's up?" she asked him taking a sip of the drink. "A little birdy told me you resigned from your position in the FBI," Voight said causing her to pause and send a look toward her husband. "Don't look at me," he replied before standing up and walking over to the bar where Will was.
