[A day before Chapter I]
This is bad, real bad. My pokemons aren't doing too well right now. If they take another hit it would mean defeat. I'm usually not one to give up but.....
'Are you okay Decidueye ?'
'*pant*...D-..Deci..(I'm-....Fine....)'
My decidueye, her left eye closed while she's holding one of her shoulder like they are sore from pain resonating within her body starts to nod rather slowly. I know she tries to agree with what I just said. That's not convincing me enough.
No. No I can't let her fight for any longer. She's way past her limit by now. I should just surrender. I don't want to take another lost, but it's better than potentially losing my partner. Alright Decidueye, I've made up my mind. Thanks for the effort but I'm not letting you get injured more than you have to.
'I surr-..'
Before I managed to finish my word, the gym leader suddenly throws out an attack.
'Tyranitar, use Stone Edge !'
'Wait Wait ! I surrender !'
Shit ! What is he doing ? Why is he launching a move to a pokemon who had surrendered ? Did he not hear my words just now ? Tch, what am I supposed to do ?
I thought it would be fine if Decidueye block the attack. Then I was caught off guard, when she suddenly starts to fall over. It doesn't look like she lost her consciousness it's just her legs given up to her. It must've been the fatigue getting to her.
'At this rate she wouldn't be able to block that attack.'
That stone edge could be fatal !
The stones launched at a high speed coming towards her and there's nothing Decidueye could do. In a split second, I threw my backpack away and sprinted towards her direction. Quickly arriving to her location, I stand it front of her just as the stones were about to hit her.
I used my body as a shield. Crossing my arms on my face in an attempt to block any direct hit to my face. Some of the stones misses, but when they do they pierced through my skin into my limbs. It hurts, but I feel like I already get used to getting hit like this.
One stuck inside my leg just right above the knee. Another one ricochet from my forearm. It did bore a hole on my skin but at least the bleeding isn't that bad.
Seeing I suddenly come into the arena, Decidueye struggled to get on her feet only to meet with failure once again. Her eyes are wide open and her mouth was slightly lowered when she sees my injured body. I can see her wings and legs shivering just from her putting every ounce of strength she had left to stand up. But of course, she couldn't.
She tried too hard lately, I hope it doesn't cause her permanent damage in her body.
It's difficult to walk correctly to her when one of my leg is injured, but I did manage to get near her. I kneeled down, looking at her condition to see if she was not too heavily injured. I suppose I can sigh a breath of relief for now.
'Looks like you're not too heavily injured. We should get you fixed immediately.'
I smiled at her, but got interrupted when suddenly my left vision blurred by blood. Looks like one of the stone actually cuts my forehead above my left eye. Not too much to worry though but I suppose that would leave a scar on my forehead if I don't treat it quickly.
Seeing Decidueye right now is enough to make me feel happy. I wouldn't say the same for her though. She panicked, wanting to stand up, supporting her body with her wings and trying hard to lift her legs but her efforts are futile. With injuries like that it's a blessing how she's even conscious right now. We'll need to get to the pokemon centre as quickly as possible.
