NARRATOR
Trainer wakes up from his sleep, with his body all sweaty, and his breath paces faster compared to when he's running. In a panic he begins to inspect his body, touching every single limb from his head all the way to his toes. Even pinching his cheeks making sure it's a reality. Unsurprisingly his pinching hurts; this isn't a dream.
He puts his hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeat still rushing in pure adrenaline. He takes a panoramic view and much to his delight he's inside his bedroom. Glass window rippled with the rain, slow pitter-patter noises above the roof, and a cold yet quiet surrounding. Without a doubt, this is the atmosphere he's most comfortable with; an area one would consider home.
Though his body calmed down he couldn't help but overthink about the others. What about his Pokemons? Decidueye, Vaporeon, and Espeon, all of them. "Where are they?" His mind lingers with negative thoughts. After all, he was just a boy who cares about others. So much so he couldn't spend a second thinking about himself or his well-being. He couldn't rest easy until he knows that they were safe.
Upon arriving in the living room he immediately rushes to the window Espeon always sleeps on. She's not there. Then he went to the sofas to find Vaporeon, and of course, she was not there as well. He frowned staring at the empty living room in dead silence. It's rare for the place to be empty, especially during rain such as this.
Before he gets a moment to feel sorry for himself he heard a loud noise in the kitchen.
KLANG
It sounds that of a metallic object. Doesn't it mean there's someone in the kitchen? His heavy heart felt at ease slightly when he heard the sound of a pan dropping. Perhaps there was hope, but he couldn't be so sure unless he check it first. He leaves the living room and power walked to the kitchen.
He arrives, to witness his Decidueye standing by the kitchen counters, still oblivious to his presence. It seems that she's checking the pan that she had accidentally dropped.
No words could express how much relief the Trainer felt when he sees Decidueye seemingly in perfect health, just like how they are supposed to be.
'Deci...dueye?' He stuttered, still feeling it was surreal.
'(Oh, Trainer? Good morning.)' Decidueye smiled at him, a pure genuine smile that potentially lit up the room. It's been ages since he had last seen that smile of hers.
He didn't respond to her, instead, he walked slowly with teary eyes and a wide smile. Decidueye tilted her head, confused by her Trainer's action. Then he grabbed her, arms tucked in between her wings and then he hugged her tightly, burying his face in her feathers. Decidueye gasped at his sudden action.
'(Trainer? Are you...okay?)'
The sound of his sniffing muffled in her feathers, he speaks.
'I'm okay, I'm just...I...had a nightmare.' Trainer stuttered at his words as he couldn't express how happy he is seeing Decidueye.
Hearing his words Decidueye couldn't help but hug him back. There's just them both in the kitchen, both arms pulling one another to themselves. No words were spoken. Aside from the rain crashing on the windows and the roof, the kitchen is silent, but their actions speak more than they could've thought. He needed no words to assure him it was not a dream and Decidueye knows it. All he needs is to see his Pokemons safe and sound.
After a good minute, he finally let Decidueye go. Now he left no traces of sadness in his eyes but only grace. He's satisfied seeing his Decidueye. But then, that leaves more questions, "Where are Espeon and Vaporeon?".
