Work before anything else, that's what life taught me. Work before anyone else that isn't my abuela, that's another rule. No matter how tired, or done I am with the day, I'm never stopping. It's not for me, but it's for her. She deserves a better life.
Abuela didn't raise a lazy, suck up woman. She raised me to be strong and powerful. Women aren't dolls to fuck with, they will change the world whether you want them to, or not.
It's not really your choice, of course.
Alsace left a few hours ago, bidding goodbye to abuela, barely glancing at me and then walking away. I told him last night that we have to stop this shit. I mean, last night was not planned... I hope.
I get ready for work, showering first and then grabbing something to eat. I gave abuela a kiss on her forehead, and another for Hendrix. She woke up early to say goodbye to Alsace, a little teary-eyed from the interaction.
It weirds me out that abuela is already so close with him, like they've known each other for years end. Maybe it's because abuela is just talkative, and friendly. Friendly enough for Alsace, I suppose?
I started my bike, wearing my helmet and dashing off to work.

A big, thick booklet hits my table. I glanced at it, and then at the person who decided to stack their shit.
"What the fuck is that?" I asked. I took the booklet, glancing, it was titled as...
Easy Italian Phrase Book! Over 700 Phrases for Everyday Use.
What in the...
"Don't even ask." Jenna sighed. Looking like she barely got any sleep, her hair a little messy, but what stood out is how she played with her makeup: messy.
I glanced back at her, dumping the booklet down. "What's it for?"
"For Valerio." her shoulders slumped. "He wants me to learn some phrases in Italian."
I raised a brow. "For?"
Her face lightened. "He's bringing me to Italy next summer! I'm meeting his family," she paused, "I think I am."
