That quick kiss on the cheek still burns my lips.

I could still feel it. And it's been a few hours. It hasn't even been twenty-four hours. Maybe four hours, but not twenty-four. I'm already craving for more.

I stood up. Maybe a quick walk outside will do the trick, the precinct has been a little busy. A call from here and there, some were serious, while the others were minor incidents.

Since we've had almost an entire month off, we were all back at the action again.

I took my keys, and phone. Shoving them all inside my pockets. This'll do.

Quickly, and hoping that no one sees me, I strode to the elevator. I pressed the down button multiple times, hoping it comes rushing to my floor.

"Wait for me, Diaz." I heard someone say.

No, thank you, I wanted to reply.

But he was already standing beside me.

"Detective Ma." I greeted him.

"Diaz." he responded. "Everything's well with..."

"Yes." I stopped him from talking before he says something we would both regret. "Everything is well." I gritted my teeth.

Ken knew how to keep secrets, sure, but it took a long time for him to actually keep it from everyone. He's going to talk about it with two or three more other people. And then he'd keep it. It's not really a secret anymore if more than three people knew about it.

The elevator stops at our floor. Thank God.

Now a minute with him.

"So, what are you up to?" he asked.

I shrugged. "Just a little stroll to keep me sane. You?"

It was his turn to shrug. "Just keeping you alive."

I raised a brow, pressing the ground floor. "I need someone to supervise me for my own job?"

"No. Just want to do it myself."

"I can take care of myself, Ken."

"I'm not even asking for anything in return. I'm literally just here to watch over you."

What was it with him taking care of me? Why did he have to. There was no reason, right? Not even a single bone inside him had any reasons for him to watch over me. I'm not a child, hell, I'm even better than him when it came to business.

I wanted to argue about it. But I figured that it's better to shut the fuck up.

The elevator ride took a minute and a half, thank God.

I marched out of the elevator and out the building. Ken tailing behind me quickly. I couldn't see him but I knew he was scanning the area like it's not a precinct. I mean, I do it sometimes, but not when I'm in precinct grounds.
