"No pictures of her, Alsace?" Vladis asked

"No pictures of her, Alsace?" Vladis asked. I gave him another shrug.

"He loves to keep his daughter locked away, and I can't do anything about that." I replied, slicing myself a small piece of steak.

Nathaniel snorted. "Obsessed much."

It was Kine's turn to talk. "Maybe he feels like she's not worth it to show."

"She's half, that's what I know." I said.

"Since we're all here... eating like normal beings. Do the honors of introducing us to her. Without her, of course." Nathaniel said. "Just so we know who we're dealing with, right?"

Nathaniel was right. It wasn't fair that I was the only one who knew Valentina's identity. So, I started off with the basics.

"Well, full name is Valentina Mahalia Aquino D'Amato, age nineteen. She's half Filipina, and Italian. No one has seen her, they hide her very well. Her mother is still alive, but from what I found out, they haven't seen each other since she was six. So, she's basically living with the D'Amato's men."

"Like, she doesn't have any other family members? Just her father?" Vladis asked. I nodded, taking a sip of my drink.

"She's completely anonymous, Vladis. I've tried, and it's impossible."

"She must be too goddamn pretty to be kept in the dark." Kine spoke.

"Maybe she's a man-killer." Nathaniel grinned.

A what? My eyebrows raised, I looked at my brother, my mind filled with questions. "She's a possession. And she doesn't have anyone else, same goes for her father. You keep your enemies close, but your possessions closer." Vladis says.

I blinked, Vladis' eyes boring the food. Well, yeah, sure. What Vladis said.

I glanced back at Nathaniel. "What's a man-killer?"

Nathaniel shrugged. "When every man wants to have sex with you, I think."

Kine threw a fork at him, but Nathaniel caught it swiftly. "That's a man-eater, jackass." Nathaniel whined, flipping Kine off. It was his turn to throw the fork, but his was a knife. I watched the whole thing for a minute, and thought that it was enough.

"Stop playing with your food." I spoke.

When they stopped, they went back to eating. It stayed quiet for a few minutes, then, Nathaniel started talking about random things.

Why would they even hide Valentina? There wasn't any other reasons, as if she was in bad form, or is carrying a disease. I mean, who cares about that, really? All we need is a woman, and a man, and a surname that'll help us all. This marriage wasn't going to save us, but going to save them. Who knows, maybe in the future, this'll also save us.

"How's it going with your Alisha problem?" Vladis asked softly.

I looked at him, I was starting to forget about that, and this asshole had to bring it up. When he noticed me almost killing him in my brain, he gave me a shrug.
