Chapter 9 - The red one?
*****"Don't you think you should continue practicing?" Genevieve asked as she saw her daughter flopped on the sofa in the living room.
"Do I have to?" Isolabella grumbled out.
"I need you to be at your best sweetheart." Genevieve spoke as she brushed down her shirt.
"Why are you looking so smart?" Isolabella asked as she sat up and looked over her mother.
"I have a guest coming for dinner."
"A guest?" Isolabella scoffed.
"Not that kind of guest." Genevieve spoke firmly as she turned to face her daughter. "Someone your father thinks is on his payroll, is actually on my payroll."
Isolabella nodded slowly. "I'll stay upstairs then."
Genevieve shook her head. "No, not this time."
"But I always-"
"No, this time I want you there. You need to see how these dinners go down."
Isolabella hesitated. "Okay." She mumbled as her mother gave her a kiss on the head.
"Go get changed and sorted then."
Isolabella nodded as she got up and went up to her room. Grabbing Digger as he went to pass her, she pulled him into her room.
"You know this is assault right?" He groaned out as she shut the door behind him.
"How do you explain everything else our family does then?" She stared at him blankly.
He paused as he thought. "Tough love?"
Isolabella cracked a laugh as she shook her head. "Help me pick out what to wear?"
Digger groaned. "That's what I'm here for?! I'm not gay you know!"
Isolabella shrugged as she walked towards her walk in wardrobe.
"Well I need help and I have no idea where Ace is." She tried not to snap as she mentioned him.
Digger shrugged slightly, it was hard to argue with that.
*****
An hour later and Isolabella stepped out of her bathroom, towel wrapped around her as she saw the dress Digger had chosen.
