Chapter 17 - T- Bone

"How's she doing?" Digger asked as Bones brought him in some food.

"As well as you'd expect." Bones replied calmly.

"Oh come on, don't fucking lie to me." Digger snapped as he stood up from the sofa.

Bones raised his eyebrow slightly. "Fine." He sighed. "Since your funeral this morning, she has successfully burnt everything that belonged to Ace in this house, broken her vanity desk, punched a hole in her bedroom wall and damaged her wrist."

Digger slumped back down on the sofa. "Seriously is there no way we can just tell her I'm alive?!" He almost begged.

Bones shook his head. "Right now, she is selling your faked death better than anyone. If the rat is witnessing this then there is no doubt in his mind, you actually died at the hands of Ace."

"But it's killing her!" Digger tried not to shout as he gestured upstairs.

"She is coping the way she chooses to cope." Bones replied. "With any luck Thomas will have been contacted and Ace is most likely there already, a search of his house earlier proved he is no longer there."

"So he's with Thomas?"

"One can only assume he is with Thomas, yes." Bones replied as he nudged the tray on the coffee table towards Digger.

"Now eat. You'll need your strength for when he returns."

Digger nodded as he picked up a book. "I found out what you can do about the drugs coming in next Friday though if the rat told him about it?" He spoke as he stood up and held it out to Bones, who moved beside him.

"Move the shipment to Sunday, you do it to Saturday and you run the risk of them still being there."

"Nice work boy." Bones mumbled as he lightly smacked Digger's back.

"So I'm sure you have some good information for me?" Thomas asked as he leant back on his sofa, one leg over the other as his arms outstretched either side.

"Like what?" Ace asked as he sat opposite.

Thomas shrugged. "You tell me. You were no doubt in some relationship with my daughter, therefore being trusted by Genevieve correct?"

Ace nodded slowly. "She didn't tell me much though."

Thomas scoffed and shook his head. "Come on kid don't give me that. Genevieve's open with people she considers family and you were definitely considered family."
