I woke up at around 4 in the morning, Leo was sound asleep, breathing softly. He was actually kind of cute when he was asleep. He almost looked kind... I kissed his forehead and left the attic. Stretching I wandered around the mansion again as I did the day before, should I check on Xiomara again perhaps? I nod to myself and head to her room,
"Annalina?"
I hear a voice behind me.
"Mmm?"
To my surprise it's Lucius, staring at me with pain in his eyes.
"Where are you going?"
He steps over to me, his eyes are red and unrecognizable. A black mist forming around him.
"I'm just going to check on Xiomara. She's in a coma you know..."
I take a step back uncomfortably.
"You look very beautiful tonight. "
A crooked smile forms on his lips.
Man, he starting to make me uncomfortable. Just what was this bitterness seeping from within him? He shouldn't have even been here in the first place.
"Thank you Lucius. What are you doing here?"
Shouldn't he be in the spirit realm? What is this black mist coming from him?
"Why did you do that to me?"
His voice is broken, the mist getting heavier, surrounding him.
"Huh?"
Another step back. This wasn't the Lucius that I knew, this was bad. The mist shapes itself into large hands and form behind him, he almost looks like a demented spider.
"You slept with him, didn't you?"
My face is red, is he stalking me now? That was none of his business.
"You can't love him after all the horrific things he's done right? I never did anything like that to you."
His eyes widen, clearly not in the right state of mind. I felt myself wincing, this sure was awkward for me. I couldn't help not caring about him in the same way, I just wasn't attracted to you!
"Why do you only see him and never me?!"
The mist grabs me and wraps itself around my throat lifting me into the air. I'm suffocating and my body trembles. I can't bring myself to fight back, I cannot harm my family. Haven't I already done enough to him? Perhaps I deserved this for everything that I had done, countless times over for my own selfish benefits. Tears form in my eyes as I choke, Lucius glaring up at me, shaking and growling.
"Enough!"
The hands release me and I am coughing and gasping on the floor. I look up to see Sal on top of Lucius, holding him down. Lucius is thrashing and screaming trying to get free from Sal's grip. My eyes widen in horror, was Lucius suffering this much because of me? Even after I was trying to set him free?
"This isn't who you are, you'd never hurt her. Don't let your jealousy do this to you. Do not become like him." Sal is shouting at Lucius, struggling to restrain him.
"Sal..."
He was here all this time, watching me, he didn't hate me after all. He should though. He should to make it easier.
Lucius and Sal worked together, comforted each other, they were supporting each other all this time and I never knew. What kind of person was I to them? Lucius stops struggling and the mist vanishes as if it never even existed. He looks at me and begins to cry.
