The rest of the night was mostly silent, with Sadie going in and out of sleep while listening to Annabelle's amazing voice hum along the lyrics to her favourite songs. If there was heaven, then this would be the exact moment she wanted to repeat over and over again, for the rest of eternity.
But even that had to come to an end, with Bella parking in front of the hotel and nudging her lightly to wake up from the sleep she needed. Both of them parted ways, much to their dissatisfaction, and went to their separate rooms.
Annabelle's expectations of the morning weren't that she would repeat the night beforehand in her mind over and over again. Not that she wasn't pleased with the events, but rather wishing they spent more time together. A wash of guilt and regret filled her once she remembered the talk they had in the car.
If it proved one thing, is that Bella wouldn't have any chance with her best friend, or at least not for more than they already had. Still, she wished she asked the original question, instead of asking about the stupid party. Who even cares about it anyway?
She does. And she desperately wanted to be there with Sadie, to hold her, to hug her, to kiss her. But she was getting none of that.
A phone buzz made her dismiss her previous thoughts. She opened the notification, seeing it was one from Instagram. The one app she always muted managed to get through her otherwise silent home screen.
She clicked on it, a video of her and Sadie, or Max, kissing, playing on the screen. Of course she would be tortured with that. At least Annabelle Winston actually had the Redhead.
If only sometimes life was a script. She was always the one to effortlessly memorize all the lines, sometimes even the other actor's lines. Everything was so clear, she always had control and knew what was going to happen. But this, the fear of rejection, was too much for her to just simply improvise with a line or two.
However, she wasn't labeled as the Queen of Improvisation for no reason. If Sadie didn't like her, that would be okay. They would still remain friends. But she had to do something to get over this crush, before it gets away in the real world and her best friend stops talking to her.
Mindlessly, she went to her contacts and called Caleb.
"Hey, Elle." his groggy voice came across the phone. Clearly, he just woke up, or more like she just woke him up. A little guilty stinging formed in her, knowing that it was his day off today. But it was already too late to back away.
"Caleb, hey! I actually thought about your offer for the wrap party and I would love to go together." she continued, knowing his smile grew without even needing to see him. He immediately hummed in what she could only define as both surprise and delight.
"Cool," he continued after clearing his throat. "It starts at 8, I will come pick you up 7:30."
"Sounds good," she chuckled at his clear enthusiasm. "See you then."
With that, she hung up, still in bed. Curious as to what is going on in social media, she started scrolling down Instagram. That, however, brought her even more boredom than before. Not that she didn't like seeing her co-stars' pictures, but more because it was just that, pictures of different actors mostly doing promotions.
Until, she came across a post about her and Sadie, again them kissing. She sighed, sitting up-straight in the bed and liking the post mindlessly. How she wished for that to actually be true. Scrolling to the right, she went into her request with the desire to answer some of her fans. There were mostly people saying they loved her, begging her to answer and sending random pictures.
She answered them all with a smile, feeling better to read through all the supportive messages. The blonde girl definitely missed interacting with fans, when they were nice. Of course, there were some people saying that she is a faggot, purely based on the roles she played. The characters had nothing to do with who she was, and she thought it was clear.
