DAY ONE [declan rice]

NINETEEN

Anna's POV
13th September 2021

Theo started pre school a weeks ago and he is loving his new school, he comes home and tells me about it every single day.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I've just entered the final trimester last week.

I can't see my feet as my belly is that big and it's in the way.

We had another baby scan about 10 weeks ago and we had the chance to find out the gender of our baby but we decided to keep it a surprise.

Dec is at training today so I have to take Theo to school.

It's not that I'm complaining it's just that I take a long time to walk places and I can't drive anymore.

It's only a 10 minute walk but for me it will probably be a half an hour walk.

I get ready and throw on a pair of tracksuit bottoms and put on of Dec's tops on as they are the only one that fit.

I put my hair in a messy bun so it's out of the way.

"Come on Theo." I shout up as he comes running downstairs.

He refuses to let me or Dec change him for school as he wants to change himself.

He comes downstairs and his outfit is actually quite nice.

He's wearing some grey tracksuit bottoms and a plain short sleeve t-shirt.

He doesn't need the uniform until he goes into reception next year.

"Can you put on my shoes please?" He asks and sits down the step after giving me his shoes.

"Of course I can." I put his shoes on and get stuck sitting on the step beneath him.

"Can I ride my bike to school?" He starts to jump up and down as he loves his bike.

"Yeah, go and get it." I gesture to the back door and he goes outside and into the shed to get his bike out.

It's not a pedal bike, it's one of them strider bikes that he has to push along with his feet.

I struggle to get up off the step but eventually I do.

He gets his bike as I open the door, he gets on his bike and starts to ride it in the house.

"No riding in the house." I say warningly which makes him gets off immediately.

"Sorry mama." I chuckle  at him as he gets back on as soon as he's out the house.

We get to Theo's school just in the nick of time.

He hets off his bike and hands it to me.

"Goodbye mummy." I crouch down and I hug him goodbye.

"Goodbye buddy." I stand up with help from the bike and watch him as I watch him run into class and play with his friends.

I stroll back to the house and relax on the sofa which relieves the pressure on my feet.

I relax my neck as my head falls into the pillow behind me.

When I do my phone starts to ring.

I groan and sit back up and see that it's Dec, a smile appears on my face.

Dec❤️: Hey love.

Me: Hey, what's up?

Dec❤️: I wanted to check that Theo got to school ok and that your also ok.

Me: Yeah I took him, and I'm fine, just tired for all the walking.

Me and Dec both chuckle as the baby kicks me in the ribs so I wince.

Dec❤️: Are you ok?

Me: I'm fine, the baby is just kicking my ribs.

Dec❤️: Put me on speaker and put my phone near your belly.

Me: Ok...

I'm unsure what he's going to do but I do what he says and wait for him to start to talk.

Dec❤️: Hello baby, I know I'm not there but you need to stop kicking mummy because she's tired and she wants to relax.

The tone of his voice must of calmed them because they stop kicking almost instantly.

Me: Wow, they've stopped.

Dec❤️: What can I say? I'm amazing.

I laugh and shake my head.

We stay on the phone for a few more minutes before he has to go and train.

When he goes I decide to change into an actual outfit and not just something I threw on.

I go to my wardrobe and go through everything but nothing I can't find anything that will fit.

I throw all my clothes out of my wardrobe and chick them about all over the room to see if I can find just one top but... I... find... nothing.
