DAY ONE [declan rice]

TWENTY-TWO

Anna's POV
15th October 2021

It's been a month since Dec surprised me with my shop and it's been none stop sorting it out.

I'm 33 and half weeks pregnant so Dec has been helping me so much.

He doesn't let me do any work and when he does it's nothing massive.

I'm so excited for today as my shop opens in a week and everything is coming today.

The sign should be arriving today, so is my desk and then if it does me and Dec will be going to get my computer.

Dec took Theo to school this morning but fell back asleep when he came home.

I lie there and wait for him to wake up as I don't really want to move out the bed yet.

I scroll through my phone until I hear Dec waking up.

"Morning." I say whilst looking over at him and smiling.

"Morning." He says in his morning voice and rolled over to face me.

He places his hand on my belly as the baby starts to kick and becomes active.

"They were asleep a minute ago." I laughs as they kick extremely aggressively which makes me wince.

Dec looks at me when I wince with loving and caring eyes.

"Stop hurting mummy, she is trying her best but you keep hurting her." Decs voice has a calming tone in it when talking to the baby which calms them almost instantly.

"Thank you." I smile at him as he leans up to kiss me.

"Of course love, I need to make sure your comfy and this little monster," he tickles my belly which makes me giggle and the baby move, "isn't hurting you."

Me and Dec are in my shop waiting for the deliveries.

Dec has been an angel to me, he's painted the walls since they weren't all the same colour and some of the colour was chipping off.

I am sat in my chair that we picked up so we didn't have to wait for it to be delivered.

I see a lorry pull up beside the shop and I look at Dec with hope.

"Is it mine?" I ask him because he can get up and look quickly where as it takes me awhile to just stand up.

"Yeah." He looks at me and I have the biggest smile on my face.

He goes outside and gets whatever it is.

He has to sign something so I think it might be the sign, everything else doesn't need signing for.

The delivery man helps Dec take it from the back and comes into the shop.

I slowly standing up but continue to move in excitement.

"There you go darling." He winks at me and walks out.

That's creepy.

"Did you see that?" I ask Dec as he walks over and hugs me.

"See what?" He asks with confusion.

"He winked at me." I look at him and watch him leave.

"HE WHAT?! No, I'm not accepting that!" He goes to storm out but I stop him before he can.

"No don't, i- i- it's fine." I look at the ground but Dec takes it the wrong way.

"Oh, so you want him to wink at you." My head shoots up and I'm shocked.

"N- no! Of course not but he's left so what can you do." I say and sit in my chair as my feet start to ache.

"I'm sorry love, he's just riled me up." He walks over and leans down to me.

He lifts me up and once he does he places a kiss on my forehead and wraps his arms around me and hugs me.

There are boxes all around the shop when it's time to pick Theo up from school.

"Darling, do you want to come pick Theo up with me? You haven't been in awhile." I sigh and nod my head.

"Yeah I will just give me a minute." I put my hand on my stomach and try to stand up but Dec notices that I'm struggling.

"Let me help you." Dec walks over and helps me get up.

"I'm so fat, I can't even get up." I start to cry as Dec wraps his arms around me and holds me.

Stupid pregnancy hormones.

"Your not fat, you are growing a human which I will be ever thankful for." He wipes my tears away and rubs my stomach. "Come on."

He helps me into the car and I get comfy whilst he walks around to his side of the car.

We drive to Theo's school which is a 5 minute drive away.

We pull up and people are coming out of the gates.

"Sorry, I made us late." I start to mess with my fingers before Dec stops me.

"No, it's fine. Theo isn't going anywhere." Dec smiles and gets out the car.

He helps me get out the car and when everyone sees me walk towards them, they move out the way so I can't get through without pushing.

Dec whispers 'thank you' to everyone and when Theo sees me and Dec he runs over to us as I crouch down and hug him.

"Did you have a good day buddy?" I ask whilst getting up and holding his hand.

"Yeah!" He tells us all about his day when we get in the car. "Where are we going?"

He's always curious to where we are going but is also attentive to his surroundings.

"Just the shop bud." Dec tells him as we stop at a red light.

"Yay! I love the flower shop!" Theo always makes me giggle
