DAY ONE [declan rice]

TWENTY-ONE

Anna's POV
15th September 2021

I wake up and suddenly get the urge to go on a walk in the park as it's autumn and I love the autumn weather.

I look to the side of me but I don't see Dec. His side of the bed is cold and the bed is made which means that he already left.

I turn over to look at the time and see that it's 9:35am.

I must've been really tired to sleep this long.

I sit up and see a note on my bedside table.

Morning love, I've took Theo to school and gone to training. You looked too peaceful to wake up, message me when you wake up x

Dec has been very secretive for the past few days and I'm becoming more and more suspicious of him.

Whenever someone messages he always makes sure I can rare his phone screen and then when someone calls him he walks out the room so I don't hear the conversation.

I pull my phone out and message Dec.

Me: Just woke up and saw your note! So cute x

Dec❤️: Anything for you, glad you slept for a long time you won't get much sleep when the baby is born and comes home x

Me: Honestly don't know why I slept so long but it was lovely x

Dec❤️: Good, finishing training at 1 so be ready. I'm taking you somewhere x

Me: Where? Now I'm curious.

Dec❤️: It's a surprise x

Me: I hate surprises.

He doesn't respond to the message but he does read it.

I guess I'll have to wait until later to find out.

I'm currently in the park waddling me way through the park.

It's nice to be out the house but I already want to go back when I've just left.

The baby starts to kick so I sit down and keep wincing in pain.

"Are you ok?" Someone sitting next to me asks.

He's an old man who is also sitting on the bench but he's enjoying the views whereas I'm getting kicked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I take a deep breath and wait for them to stop kicking.

"How far along are you?" He asks gesturing to my bump.

"I'm 29 weeks along." I smile and rub my stomach to try and calm them down.

"Is it a girl or boy?"

"We decided to keep it as a surprise." I nod my head as I talk and rub my stomach.

"My wife couldn't do that. She hates surprises." I can definitely relate.

"Me too, don't get me wrong but this will be a nice surprise." I smile and sigh.

"Yes it will." He smiles at me before standing up and walking away but not before wishing me luck and saying goodbye.

I can back from the park about an hour ago and I'm currently in the bath.

I'm aching from my walk that was probably too long for me without help from Dec or him telling me to stop working so hard.

I get out the bath and a few minutes later I get a message from Dec.

Dec❤️: Be ready to leave the house in 10 mins, on my way to pick you up for your surprise!

Me: Just got out the bath, give me 15 x

Dec❤️: Ok love xx

Dead on 10 minutes later, Dec asks through the door as I'm getting dressed.

I decide on my leggings and a loose t-shirt which flows easily over my belly.

Dec comes upstairs and walks into our room.

"Hey." He leans down and kisses my belly.

"Hi." I smile as he stands up and kisses me.

"Are you ready to go?" He asks and grabs my hand and pulls me downstairs before I can answer.

"Let me just get my shoes on then we can go." I laugh as he opens the door eager to go.

"Come on!" He's jumping up and down like a little kid.

"I'm coming, jeez your even more excited than me." I chuckle and lock the door before getting in the car.

He drives us the way to the mall, just like he did the other day.

He stops at the same place he did last time.

At a corner shop that's for sale.

"Come on." I look confused but get out the car.

Dec pulls me across the road until we get to the empty shop.

"This is your surprise." He gestures to the shop and I giggle.

"What? A random empty shop?" He shakes his head and pulls out a piece of paper that was in his pocket.

"Nope, your empty shop." He hands me the paper and it's a deed for the sale.

"What? I'm confused why do I need an empty shop? To give birth in?" He laughs and shakes his head.

"No, you said your dream was to own your own florist because your mum loved flowers. So I got you your florist." I drool there shook.

"What?!" Tears of joy start to fall down my face.

"And here's some money in a bank account for you to order whatever you need to." Wow. He's honestly the best.

I'm speechless.

I literally have no clue what to say.

"Are you ok?" He asks me as I'm stood still having no clue what to do or say. 

All I can do in response to dec is nod and hug him.

"Thank you so much." I'm still crying of joy as I whisper in his ear.

"You want to go in and explore?" He hands me the keys as I open the door and step inside.

We walk around and I already have visions of where everything will go.

We walk into a room in the back and i immediately knows what it's going to be.

"This is gonna be my office. I'll have a desk over there," I point to the far end of the room, "and then this area will be a place for the baby to play so she can be near me whilst I'm working." I turn around and Dec is staring at me. "What?"

"Nothing your just amazing." He smiles and shakes his head in disbelief.

"So are you! You bought this entire building just for a dream I had since I was younger!" I walk over to him and wrap my arms around his neck.

How did I get so lucky?
