• Archie introducing his deaf boyfriend to his parents, who ofc start to argue bc parents are shit sometimes
• deaf!Jughead
• referenced trans!Jughead
• homophobic!Mary (and a shit parent in general)

Archie nudged Jughead by the shoulder, trying to get his attention. His boyfriend rolled around to face him, quirking an eyebrow up to show him that he was listening to him. Well, not actually listening to him because he wouldn't be able to hear him but he was reading his lips.

"I've been... thinking about stuff. I want to introduce you to my parents, as my boyfriend, on Friday dinner, if you're up for it"

"You sure? I thought your mom-"

"I know that my dad will support me," Archie paused "well, probably, so it will be fine, hopefully. I just don't want to go around hiding anymore. I'm tired of it. You're my boyfriend and I love you, and I want to show that, not just behind closed doors with the curtains closed. I want to kiss you at school or at the Wrym or at Pops or on dates — I just want to kiss you in public"

"That sounds lovely"

"Does it?" Jughead hummed, leaning over to kiss his boyfriend on the lips. Eventually, he crawled on top of him in order to rest his head on Archie's chest.

"Goodnight, love" Archie whispered and despite Jughead having turned his head away, he knew what he said. It's what Archie always said before the two went to sleep.

"Night"

On Friday, the two met up at the trailer first. Well, Archie drove the two of them to the Sunnyside Trailerpark in order to go over their dressing. Jughead didn't want to go too fancy — because it really wasn't a fancy thing, it was just dinner — but he also didn't want to look like he wasn't trying — because he did want to make a good first impression on Mary Andrews, no matter what kind of human she was.

"What about this?" He asked, after having pulled on the third outfit. This one consisted of a black jeans, the only one which wasn't ripped by now, and a shirt.

"Don't you think... that this is a bit too on the nose?" Archie asked, laying on his stomach on Jughead's bed as he pointed at his shirt. Jughead looked down on himself, only to realize that his shirt wasn't plain but had lettering on it.

Fuck you.

Well, that certainly would not give off a good first impression, so he discarded it back in his closet before starting to look through it again.

"Alright. This one; with my current jeans?" He asked, holding up a black T-shirt with red lettering.

"You sure? That looks like you could be..."

"It's band merch"

"It looks metal-ly"

"Well, it's from bring me the horizon"

"Exactly"

"So? Not okay?" Archie sighed softly and got up from his seat on the bed in order to walk over to his boyfriend. He took the shirt and folded it to put it back in the closet before looking through it himself. Upon finding something, he reached over the shirt.

"There you go. What about this one?" Jughead inspected the shirt for a moment before nodding. It was a black tee as well, this one with white lettering and two daisies though.

"Why do you own that anyways?"

"...It's band merch as well" Jughead mumbled, just quickly pulling it on because it was at least bearable to wear, and apparently the only acceptable thing in his entire closet.
