"Can't you see? I LIKE YOU DAMN IT!"Her eyes widened. She knew it was coming sooner or later, but she was hoping later. She didn't know if she should be happy or nervous or sad.
No, She couldn't afford being confused right now. One may do things in a state of haze that they regret later.
She didn't allow the Shaytan around them to sway her. She remained strong. She took a deep breath and opened her mouth,
First attack,
"What about Farisha then?", she asked with a frown, even though she had an idea that they weren't together anymore.
"What about her?", Zain became bitter hearing her name and even thinking about that girl becoming an issue between him and Samaira annoyed him.
"You liked her. Weren't you guys a thing?", she asked casually but thinking about it was making her uncomfortable.
She has to do this!
"She means nothing to me. I was blind, it was just an infatuation, nothing else! I haven't even talked to her since last year!"
Zain regretted not telling Samaira about what had happened between them. Would that make it any less difficult though? There's no problem in trying. He suddenly held her left hand with his right one softly, her cardigan had long sleeves which came up till her knuckles. So, basically their fingers were touching. She couldn't take back her hand right away.
"Why can't you just stay here? Everyone is going to be happy. You'll be too, right?", his features softened.
Samaira looked at him with scrutinising gaze and she concluded that there was infact nothing left between Zain and Farisha.
But that doesn't mean he actually likes Samaira! He couldn't just jump from one girl to another like that in such short amount of time!
There was hope in his eyes. She knew everyone would be happy, but again, in this situation, if she stays near him, they'll be sinning. She couldn't control herself in front of him. Just like right now, she knew it's wrong, yet she wasn't taking her hand back. As if on cue, something clicked on her head and she snatched her hand away.
Second attack,
"What if I'm also just an infatuation?", Samaira whispered, loud enough for him to hear, but hoping he didn't hear her.
"What?", the hurt in his voice made her regret asking though.
But she knew she had to go away for now. She knew disregarding his feelings wasn't a good way, but she couldn't think of anything else right away. Also, she wanted to make herself believe that right now, she was infact just an infatuation to him; maybe it would help to hurt herself less.
Last attack,
"Are you ready for marriage right now?", after a few seconds, she asked seriously, looking straight in his eyes.
He was confused about hearing marriage right away,
"Huh?"
"You know, right now. When you still haven't finished your studies, nor do you have any job?"
"I...", he was silent now.
He didn't understand if she was angry or she was actually serious right now."Clearly you aren't," she sighed,
"Don't you see? At this point, if we stay around each other, we'll be sinning. Just like right now! Staring at each other, holding hands! All of this is haram Zain. Shaytan is provoking us!"
She tried to make him understand. She knew he isn't a bad guy, but right now, he was under shaytan's influence, she was too.
