Chapter 13

Few weeks later.

Samaira's results were published today, and she had scored a GPA 3.7. Everyone was really happy. Her family back at New Zealand wished her over a video call, including the Khan's.

Zain had also congratulated her. He literally just said, "Congratulations," with a small smile, and Samaira had replied with a Jazakallah. Nothing else.

Omar and Iqra had taken her out though, along with Safia and Anika. At the amusement park, where they had enjoyed a lot.

Soon, the next semester started and Samaira's life became really busy. It was harder than before. But she was also working hard. She had to make everyone proud.

Ramadan had started. Next week she had 4 assignments. It was a Thursday evening when she was doing her assignments in her room, Omar came,

"Di! Can you help me in my Biology homework? It's so hard! I can't find anything!"

She had works but she also couldn't turn down Omar. So, she helped him anyway, and after 1 hour, he finished finally.

"Ah. Jazakallah di! You're a lifesaver!", she just smiled in reply.

Then, Afsana called them all to have iftar and after iftar, Samaira again started doing her assignments.

When Iqra came to sleep, Samaira quietly went to the living room to finish some of her works. She didn't want to disturb Iqra, even though she knew, Iqra would have let her study in the bedroom.
It was midnight when Samaira went to sleep.

The next day, Samaira woke up late and started for her university after drinking a glass of milk. She didn't had to fast.

Today was hectic as well. In between the classes, she had been going to the library whenever she got time, to finish her assignments. These assignments held a great importance in their finals results. So she wanted to give her best. As a result, she ended up forgetting to have her lunch.

When she returned home, she was exhausted and hungry. She took a quick shower and had some snacks. She then called home and talked with everyone. Right before iftar, Samaira had some stomach ache. But she didn't want to worry anyone, also, she couldn't tell everyone that she wasn't fasting, it was awkward. So she just had a tablet and had her iftar anyway. Being a Biochemistry student, she had pretty good idea about medicines.

The weekend went away in a jiffy. Samaira had been busy with her studies, so she didn't get a lot of free time. She had video called Sahil though. It was in her daily routine to talk with her family at least once a day.

Today, Samaira's assignments were submitted and she was going to the canteen to meet Safia and Anika. She saw Ariz sitting with them and stood still for a second, but went to them anyway. She ignored him as much as she could. But she can't stop being with her friends because of him, right?

There didn't seem to be much drama between Ariz and Safia though. The bickerings were still on, but they were harmless. And Anika was still shy in front of him. After greeting everyone Samaira sat down with them.

After few minutes Ariz stood up, looked at Anika and said softly,

"I'm gonna go guys, I have some work at the library," Anika just nodded looking down.

"You? In the library? Haha, joke of the year," Safia laughed.

"Please! Not everyone's useless like you! Anyway, Allahahfiz," Safia was about to say something, but Ariz left before that.
