Ishleen POV

I wake up to the sound of a door shutting as I slowly open my eyes hearing his voice.

"Ishleen, Wake up." He says as I sleepily stir, to lay on my back looking at him as he sits by my side.

"Goomoring." I whisper as he smiles coming to me, and pecking my lips.

"Good morning." He says picking up the tray kept by my side as I sit up, tying my open hair into a bun. I look at the tray, having a cup of herbal tea, a cupcake and simple wheat flour biscuits that I really love. A small note was kept on the side as I pick it up to read.

TO SECOND TRIMESTER

I smile looking up at him.

"The morning sickness started fading a while ago, but today onwards we are officially done with the bathroom runs every morning and with me having to hold your hair." He says as I smile.

"Sometimes there is morning sickness in second trimester." I say as he shakes his head.

"No, I decline the permission to see my wife so pale and aggravated every morning." He says as I laugh putting my feet out of bed.

"Where are you going?" he asks getting in the way and pointing to the tray.

"To brush my teeth." I say as he frowns getting aside.

"What? I'm not allowed to leave the bed anymore?"

"No, that'll be after 8th month." He says as I turn to look at him with narrowed eyes.

"That's not happening."

"But bedrest." He says as I shake my head.

"In our family, the first born is always born at the house of maternal grandparents. My brother will take me there in the mid of seventh month." I say as his mouth forms a 'O' as I chuckle.

"And you can't change that." I add walking to the washroom to brush and freshen up.

"But this means I won't be with you when you go into labor... or... what if I'm late to reach you and you give birth while I'm on a flight." He says following me standing on the bathroom door.

"You can just come after I start my last month." I say putting paste over my tooth brush for the day.

"About that..." he says as he goes out and picks up an envelope from the bedside table.

"What's this?" I say taking it from his hands, putting the brush in my mouth and opening the envelope.

"I join work on Monday." He says as my mouth falls open.

"Oh My God... You do?" I say and run to hug him tight as foam from my mouth spills over his shirt.

"You should freshen up first." He says as I laugh and letting him clean that part of his shirt before he walks out.

I took a quick shower and walked out in a towel unable to decide what to wear as he puts his arms around me and falls back on the bed and I get on top of him grasping onto him hard.

"Ishleen..." Grandma's voice calls out as the door flies open before I could process what's happening and get up.

"Heeeeyyyy Bhagwaaannn." She says shutting the door and walking away.

(Oh My God)

"We didn't lock the door last night?" Rehaan ji asks as I shake my head.

"We barely do anything, so I thought... No need..." I say sitting away from him with my red face held between my hands.

He gets up to bolt the door and comes and sits back beside me.

"And then you decided to walk out in a towel." He says looking at me with hunger in his eyes.

"No... Nop... Not after Grandma just..." I was saying as he bends to lift my chin and plants a small peck on my lips.

"Whatever you say..." he says as I hold his hand and tug him back.

"Now that she thinks we are doing it... We should... Or it'll be like lying." I say with my face red as he laughs out loud.

"Oh My God... I love you so fukin much..." He says taking my face in his hands as I look at him with my mouth open as he realizes what he had just said.

"Do you... do you mean it?" I ask as he nods.

"You're my life, You're my family..." he says placing a hand on my belly.

"You're everything I need... You're the reason I improved myself. You're the reason I'll take this job even for the less pay because no one will hire me with such a big gap after my study and no work experience. I'll work hard and prove my worth. I'll be worth more and they'll either give me better salary or I'll change jobs and slowly climb up the corporate ladder... And all because you brought light in my life..." he says and seeing him so vulnerable made me clench my legs tightly in need of him.

"I love you too..." I say standing up and dropping the towel as he notices my fuller breasts and puts his arms around my naked body to worship it.

+++++++

I walk down the stairs in a mustard salwar suit with golden embroidery and golden lace around the edges of the dupatta as my mother-in-law clears her throat.

"Your Grandma is traumatized." She says trying to stifle a laugh.

"That's what she gets for entering a married couple's room without even knocking." My husband says appearing by my side.

"Chetan..." she scolds him as he shakes his head and goes to hug her tightly still looking at me.

"We have a good news for you, Mom." I say as her brows furrow.

"Something you found on your ultrasound? Is it twins?" she says as Rehaan ji laugh and shake his head.

"No... just... I got a job..." he says as mom who had stood with his younger son's arms around her turns to look at him holding his face with both hands.

"You did? Really?" she asks as he nods.

"Oh... I'm so proud of you." She says as dad walks out from the dining area looking at us bewildered. But the moment his eyes met his son's, his figure turns stoic.

"For doing what Ambar has been doing since 4 years?" he says faking to be unimpressed.

"Tej..." my mother says as he bursts out laughing and Rehaan ji exhaled, as if holding a breath.

"Atleast he started." He says as Grandma comes out from her bedroom, by the stairs trying to face us after the awkward interaction this morning.

"Tumhare ghar valon ko bola tha na... shora mehnati hai, naukari lag jayega.. dekho ab." She says as I try my best to avoid rolling my eyes and my  husband pressed his lips to avoid laughing at my suppressed emotions.

(I told your parents that our son is hardworking, and he'll get a job. Now, see he did.)

'At the sake of my mental peace.' I thought to myself.
