"She's here." My bhabhi whispers as my bhabhi-in-law, the infamous Dr. Samayra Gill walks in from behind me, wearing a beautiful saree, and accessories just enough to make her look married in the eyes of our village folks, but surely not enough to make it look like she loved adorning them. I noticed the gift wrapped small box in her hand.

"Hey.." she nods, greeting my bhabhi as she nods back and comes to stand by me.

"You look fabulous." Samayra said and I nod in a tight-lipped smile. Her smile was infectious, making it hard with the positive vibe she emitted. But biji had warned me, that she was a manipulative woman and that I should keep my distance.

"Thank you." I barely mutter.

"Here. This is for you." She says offering me something enclosed in a floral gift wrap and I frown.

"This wasn't necessary..." I say trying to deny as she nods her head.

"No way. This is for you, and you are accepting it. Plus I'm sure there must be some kind of tradition, which says you can't say no to your elder sister-in-law." She says pressing it in my lap.

"But..." I go to say as she shakes her head.

"Ishleen, I've been the younger sibling in my family all my life, but with you I promise to be a caring elder sister. If you ever need anything from a material to an advice, don't you dare think twice. Oh and that rhymes.." She says happy with herself and I just nod affectionately, feeling her contagiously positive vibe, lift the aura of the room.

"Thank you." I say handing the gift to my brother's wife.

"Now excuse me, We are a little late and there are so many things I have to do before your sangeet function starts." She says and I nod.

"And you need to talk more than just greet or nod your head. Say whatever is going in your mind out loud. I know arrange marriages are stressful, and you need to vent your emotions from time-to-time if you don't want to burst with emotions."

"I'll keep that in mind." I say feeling her cheeriness lift my mood. She might be cunning or whatever, but she'll be fun to be around, atleast.

"See you down there. Bye." She says and walks out of my room as I exhale a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"She seems... cool?" my bhabhi says and I shrug.

"Biji warned me, so I'll have to be cautious." I say and take the present she had brought me and open the wrapping.
