Samayra POV

It was a week after the fainting incident as I stood in the kitchen on Saturday morning away from all the cooking while Ishleen, mom and Gina worked for breakfast.

"Samayra, go sit down." Mom says and I huff.

"Mom, please I need atleast some exercise." I complain and she shakes her head.

"After you're past the 12 week mark, then we'll start you on walks and exercises but you know what the doctor said. Right now the baby is weak and we Deol's don't have weak grandkids."

"This is your first grandkid, mom." I say pointing out the obvious and she just laughs.

"Okay Smart ass. Is Amber awake yet? How did his physical exam go yesterday?" mom asks and I nod.

"He says it went well, but he's not sure if he'll be back in the field since it requires a transfer and with the baby..." I say as mom nods.

"Let it be his decision, don't force him to go just because he loves his job. He wants to be there for you and his kid." She says and I nod.

"Or he'll just be like, 'Ayra told me to go' if something goes south." Chetan says entering and picks up an apple biting it. Then he sneaks a small kiss from Ishleen's lips as she turns red while mom was looking away.

"Stop bitching about me in the kitchen." Amber says entering this time remembering to put a shirt on and Mom smiles.

"How was the test?" Mom asks.

"As if you didnt already ask your spy, aka my wife but still.. It was Great. I aced it, like always. The result will be in soon." He says coming next to me and kissing my cheek and then my belly.

"How's my baby and the momma doing today?" Amber asks and mom snorts.

"This is a kitchen for God sake, kids." Mom says looking at both her sons as me and Ishleen laughs.

"But mom this parenting book said..." Amber goes to say.

"Your dad did no such thing and..." mom goes to say as Amber speaks.

"And look how Chetan turned out to be. I'm sure dad regrets it now." Amber says as Chetan throws the apple in his hand at his face.

"Fxck off." He says catching the apple as mom turns to look at him.

"CHETAN and AMBAR SINGH DEOL. This is neither the language to be used in your own home, nor by boys raised right and surely not to your elder brother." Mom shouts and Ishleen holds a chuckle as the boys slowly and silently scoot away from the kitchen.

And I look at Ishleen as a worried look passes through her face.

"Everything okay?" I whisper as mom leaves the kitchen to set the dining table.

"I... That..." she says and shakes her head. "Nothing." She says and I hold her hand.

"Ishleen, I told you the first day. You can come to me for anything. Tell me what is it?"

"I'm... I'm going to start my... cycle... In a day or two... periods, I mean." She says and I nod listening intently.

"How do I say No to him... You know... at night when he..." She says as something rings a bell in my mind.

"You can just say you got your periods..." I say and she shakes her head.

" I did... He said you can do it in your... um... But I'm not comfortable..." she says and I speak the words I was trying not to since she had told the issue.
