Sophie's POV
"Sophie!!!sophie williams!!!Get your lazy butt
up from that couch!!" Someone yelled and i groaned.
"Get up this instant!!" I heard again and i recognized that voice, it was Zoey.
Liam laughed loudly and I groaned
"In your best interest, get up" Liam said and shook me gently
"Can't a girl sleep in peace?!!" I dramatically exclaimed
"She can when there's not a long line of customers waiting!!" Zoey snapped back at me making me open my eyes and walk to the counter
"What?" I snapped at the grimace on her face
"Give me a heads up when you're going all ninja mode next time, okay?" She sassed at my dressing
Black hoodie, black leather pants and a mask
I shrugged and faced a group of boys who should be juniors at the front of the line
"What can I getcha?" I asked in a bored tone
"How about your number?" The wine haired one said with a smirk
"Nice try kiddo, coffee or iced tea?" I snapped
"Whatever you wish princess" he said and walked to his table with his friends
Kids!!
"You can't even see her face to know if she's pretty!!" Zoey yelled at the boys
"The ass says everything!!" A blonde yelled back making me sigh and start making their coffee
"Today needs to end" I murmured and leaned against the coffee machine
Closing hour
"the fun days are gone and we're just staring at the skies and stars on a cold night. The life we live is not ours anymore my love"
The song played softly from the BT speaker Liam bought as i cleaned the counter. I sighed and kept an annoyed look which was covered by my mask when Liam screamed
"guys!!!come see this!!".
"Why did you scream Li?" I asked, clearly irritated.
"No Sophie, he screeched and it was very annoying and unnecessary" Zoey added with a glare
"Whatever" Liam flipped us off and clicked on his laptop trying to show us something
Right. Hi. I'm Sophie Williams,17 years old, pretty as people have imagined . As I have described earlier, I put on a mask and I haven't revealed my face to anyone asides my best friends Zoey and Liam.
We help in running Zoey's family cafe and Liam is an hacker ,fraudster as i like to call it.
"Amazing work of art" i said dryly at the blank form the screen of his laptop displayed and Zoey clapped in fake excitement making Liam glare at us.
"Its a maids programme and they pay hundreds of dollars at the end of 6 months" he explained and i almost choked on my spit "wow!" Zoey exclaimed
"Do they get paid for something else asides cleaning and stuff?" I eyed Liam suspiciously and he smiled sheepishly
"Well yeah, they might warm the boss's son's bed now and then" He added making me roll my eyes
"The rich and their ways" I muttered bitterly and they laughed before patting my shoulder
Liam got up to get a cup of coffee and I felt Zoey tap my shoulder with a smirk
"What?" I snapped
"Sign up" She said and I rolled my eyes
"Oh come on!! you know you want to see how the world of the rich is" She said and I sighed before glaring at her
"If it turns out wrongly, I'll sign out" I said with frown
"And if it works, you'll earn money" She added with a smile
"You devil" I said and for the first time today, i actually laughed
Smiling wasn't my thing plus, it's not like anyone would see even if I did but I still didn't
It was a either a scowl or a frown
We watched an action movie while waiting for the rain to stop a bit.
We were sipping coffee when Liam screamed. again!!!
"Okay dude!one more time and i might actually kill you" Zoey threatened with a death glare while i continued sipping coffee, waiting for Liam to complain
"You signed up for the f***ing programme" Liam glared at me while Zoey smirked before facing Liam with a smile.
"I'm deducting money from your account Zee" he said with a frown and Zoey spat all over his laptop earning a disgusted look from Liam
" Oh wow,thanks Zee, My laptop needed a quick shower"he said dryly and she blinked severally.
" Now. you. why did you sign up for it? to be a maid? to show off your nice ass??!!! " He scolded
I just shrugged and focused on my coffee "i need money and you guys know it" i said
"But terms and conditions, okay fine a family picks you for the whole maid thing and its a crazy family, what would you do?" He asked softly
"Hey relax, I'll be fine" I assured them
"I'll talk to mu---Sarah about it" I added and stood up to wash our cups
We went separate ways to our homes. I told Sarah about it and she eventually agreed
"Sarah, I have to go, i will go" I said sternly as she gulped before finding her voice
"It's not your responsibility to find money for this family"she said
"Family? This is a family? Oh please. Then again, it's your responsibility but what are you doing?"i snapped at her and she sighed
"I'll go" i repeated
"You will go but Si--I mean Sophie, your mask"she stuttered and i looked up instantly
" What about it?" I asked coldly
"Are you okay with it?" She asked and i chuckled
"Goodnight mother" i mocked and went up to my room
