Chapter 22:mission

I haven't seen Sophie out all day and I felt so happy about that.

Since I got back from school actually and now its 8:30pm. The door opened "Clara you should rest" i heard mum say and I ran to meet her

"Mum?Glad you're back" I said checking her body for any injuries making her chuckle

"I went on a business trip not an avengers mission so I didn't get hurt" She laughed as she patted my head

"Yes I'm home,I've missed you and Sophie" she said and looked around the house

"Where's Sophie?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Mum about Cole...

"It's okay,I'm proud of Sophie, she fought for her friend and that was brave of her" she cut me off and i glanced at the stairs.

"Xander? Where's Sophie?" She asked once again

"Sleeping upstairs" i simply said

"You sure? Check up on her please Xander, I'll check her tomorrow" She said and I huffed earning a glare from her.

I rose my hands in surrender and sighed.

"Fine mum,I'm going" i said and she gave me a peck on my cheek and headed towards her room.

I walked upstairs,knocked on Sophie's door and got no response.

"Sophie, what the fu.......Shit!"

Sophie was on her bed, with blood all over her white bedsheets. I ran over to her and I checked for any thing to stop the bleeding but she didn't stop.

"Clara!!!mum!!!" I yelled in fear and mum ran inside.

"Oh my God!!! Sophie!!" Mum yelled and fell beside her bed

"Clara!! The keys!!" I yelled and Clara gave me my car keys.

I carried Sophie, and ran to my car. I drove to the nearest hospital. I was scared. She can't die

I would never let a person die! The doctors took into a ward and came out telling us that she would need a surgery to stitch up her body

Mum was crying all through, I just hugged her to stop her from crying. Mum really loved Sophie and i didn't know why.

I've had lots of maids in the past,but mum never showed them this much love. Sophie meant a lot to mum and i knew it

"Sam! How is she?" Mum yelled the moment she saw Sam and I stood up instantly.

"She lost a lot of blood, but she'll be fine. Just calm down" Sam said and i nodded firmly at him.

I called Tanny to come pick Mum but is stayed at the hospital.

I knew sam was not saying something. "Sam,what happened?" I asked sternly

"Leukocytosis" he simply stated

"What?" I asked in confusion

"She has high white blood cells, and if care is not taken it might develop into leukemia" he explained.

"She must have known so she kept pills with her, maybe the drugs finished but that's not why shw was bleeding" Sam said and a pit formed in my stomach.

"Why was she bleeding?" I asked slowly

"She has some bite marks, whip marks and even burn marks on her body. I guess she didn't treat it well enough so they opened up again but we've covered it up and hopefully it doesn't reopen"
