Episode 24: Pain: Part 3

"Michigan, 6:00 P.M"

Chromia, in her vehicle mode cruises down a highway in the countryside as she attempts to attract the Arachnacon, Black Arachnia's signal on her radar.

Meanwhile, thoughts of Sideswipe run through the young Autobot femme's mind as she thinks back to the first time she met her partner and best friend.

*Flashback*

"3,000 Years Ago"

On the moon of a planet in a distant solar system, An Autobot ship has recently landed on its surface. Outside the ship, Sideswipe leans against the side of the vessel while tossing a rock up and down as Chromia exits.

Sideswipe: "Mighty nice view, huh?"

Chromia stops in her tracks and looks forward as she spots a large reddish-orange planet in the distance.

Chromia: "Yeah!"

Sideswipe tosses his rock aside as Chromia looks over at him.

Chromia: "Do I know you?"

Sideswipe: "Not really. We just met a few hours ago when we evacuated Cybertron."

Sideswipe walks up to Chromia.

Sideswipe: "Name's Sideswipe! You?"

Chromia: "Chromia."

Sideswipe and Chromia shake hands for the very first time.

Sideswipe: "Pleasure to meet you!"

Sideswipe leans back against the ship and folds his arms.

Sideswipe: "I was going to make my introduction earlier, but I thought it'd be the wrong time. Nobody looked like they were in chatting mood then."

Chromia: "Well we did just lose our planet."

Sideswipe: "True."

Chromia: "So what's your story?"

Sideswipe: "I was born on Velocitron, a colony world of Cybertron."

Chromia: "You're from Velocitron?"

Sideswipe: "Yep."

Chromia: "What was it like?"

Sideswipe: "Ah, man it was awesome! It was nicknamed The Speed Planet, and for good reason to! Its entire culture was based around racing and its surface was covered entirely of racetracks, garages, or a mixture of both. Me and my older brother, Sunstreaker were part of a racing crew for some time until the Rust Plague hit. Our family managed to get out of there before they blew the spacebridge. After that, me and my brother attended Altihex University on Cybertron and started playing hockey. Our team went on to win most of our games and became famous in the process!"

Chromia: "How come I never heard you or team before?"

Sideswipe: "We were local. Anyways, my team's road to glory was cut short when we all got drafted to fight in the war. All of my teammates were killed in action and my brother's somewhere halfway across the galaxy, roaming the stars. Now it's just me. There won't be a single day that I won't miss them."

Sideswipe looks down with a sorrowful look in his optics. Chromia takes note of this and places her hand on Sideswipe's shoulder, causing him to look over at her.

Chromia: "You okay?"

Sideswipe: "Yeah. I'm fine. Sorry if I got moody there!"
