Episode 58: A Bridge too Close: Part 9 (Season Finale)

(And so it all comes down to this. After countless days and nights spent typing on this beloved project passion of mine, TFP: Legacy's 2nd Season finally comes to an end. It's truly been an honor)

"Project Nexus"

The last of the Autobot strike team evacuate via spacebridge as the explosive charges strategically placed all over the facility were rigged to blow any minute.

On the Observation Deck, Sentinel Prime keeps an eye out for reinforcements as his team emerge from the control room, having successfully shut the project down.

Ironhide: Project Nexus has been shut down, and the charges are in place and ready for detonation.

Sentinel Prime: And Sari?

"Right on top of you!"

Sentinel looks over and sees Sari sitting on his right shoulder. 

Sentinel Prime: You were supposed to be leaving with Unit E. 

Sari: I know, I know, but...

Sentinel Prime: Don't worry about it. You'll roll with us.

Suddenly, the sounds of jet engines fill the air as Sari and the Autobots turn and look back in fear.

Knockout: It...it can't be!

Sideswipe: It is!

Sari: Who?

Sentinel's optics narrow for a moment before widening at the sight of incoming F-15 Fighter Jet, which was heavily modified and possessed an all too familiar color scheme.

Ironhide: IT'S STARSCREAM!!!

Starscream flies over the Autobots, banks hard to his right, and ascends high into the air. 

The Decepticon leader transforms in mid-air and descends onto the deck, sticking a hard landing before rising to his feet and looking directly at his Autobot adversaries and their human ally.

Starscream: Half my army dead, my elite Seeker Armada banished to another dimension, and now, the Decepticons' most valuable asset is destined to be reduced to rubble!

All seven Autobots take up their positions, draw their weapons, and prepare for battle.

Starscream: Oh, and who could forget, not one, but two of my closest allies turning their backs on me!

Starscream looks over at Knockout, who appears to be a bit hesitant to engage. 

Starscream: Seven of you, and one of me. It would appear that the odds are stacked. Hmmph. Lucky for me, however, I never play the odds!

Starscream then turns his attention to Sentinel.

Starscream: Tell me, Sentinel! What's it going to be? Will you retreat, knowing I live, or will you be swayed by your false sense of bravado, trying to make amends for your past with a heroic last stand?

A hushed silence overtakes the scene as the members of Team Sentinel anxiously exchange glances, awaiting their leader's response.

*Music Ends*

Sentinel Prime: Go.

Sideswipe: Sentinel, we know you've seen your fair share of battles, but just be reasonable here! This isn't the Starscream we knew back on Cybertron! This is the new Starscream, the leader of the Decepticons we're talking about here!
