San knew he should look a little less disheveled when he was going to propose, but he couldn't contain himself any longer!
In his defense, it wasn't really a proposal; both him and Meira agreed to marry each other years ago, this was a simple confirmation.
He luckily had the decency to take a handkerchief out of his pocket and use it to wipe the remains of coal off his pale, sweaty face.
San caught the sweet scent of the napkin in a whiff, and it only made him more eager to meet the owner of it. Oh, why did she have to work so far at the edge of town?
The distance did not deter the young man in the least, he fixed his suspenders before jogging off into the path surrounded by trees.
It took a good 10 minutes to finally reach the estate he often visited, and it took even less for San to spot his lover on the other side of the metal fence with a laundry hamper at her hips.
A low psst escaped his throat to catch her attention, and at first, the olive-skinned woman looked from side to side before dismissing the sound and focusing on her task, so he had to call out to her. "Meira!" he let out a hushed call that immediately caught her attention, her eyes widened and she looked around to make sure the coast was clear before she ran to him.
