Freedom as I turn sixteen and turn the key of my brand new used car
but sixteen doesn't mean I can drive far
I can drive
but I am not truly alive
I am limited by adult authority
until I am old enough to join a sorority
the age eighteen is free
age eighteen is for me
then I can l go wherever my heart desires!
that has been burning for years with many fires
many rages
and waiting to turn the 18 pages
of the book filled with 18 years
and thousands of tears
dreaming of things I can't be
and things I can't see
but two more thousand mile long pages of paper to turn
and more bridges to burn
but I'm so tired of limitation
and being treated like crap at the slightest provocation
at eighteen I'll see
how wonderful it is to be free
