Pietra's P.O.V

As the night of the dance got closer, I started to regret ever agreeing to go with Nico. Not that I don't like Nico, he would be my number one choice if I had to choose anyone [don't tell anyone, otherwise I will slice you into pieces and bury you at the depths of Tartarus], but I don't have anything to wear, and the dance is tonight. Yep, I'm so organised. Note the sarcasm.

Every time I see Piper and Annabeth [which unfortunately is a lot], they ask me what I'm wearing to the dance. I swear nothing else occupies their mind, especially Piper.

I have worked out a few methods to avoid answering the question, so if anyone else is in this terrible situation, please, take my advice:

a) answer: "Who cares what I'm wearing, what are you wearing!?!"

b) answer:"Oh my gods! Look at that tiny thing over there!" point to a non-existent object and quickly run-away when they are trying to find what you are talking about.

c) Quickly start a surprise fight, using your weapon, preferably a sword, and when you win, state that they should train more often.

d) Slap them in the face.

e) Pretend you don't speak English.

f) Just walk away.

Quickly bundling my hair into a high ponytail, I slipped on my 'What the Hell?' t-shirt and walked towards the door of the bathroom. I adjusted my sword that hung loosely off my black shorts, and checked that my dagger was strapped around my arm.

When I swung the door open, I almost jumped back in surprise, but managed to compose myself before I completely humiliated myself in front of Nico.

A shirtless Nico.

A completely sexy and non-lacking of abs Nico di Angelo.

He smirked when he saw me flinch in surprise and I rolled my eyes, busying myself with grabbing the black hoodie that was lying on the bed and trying to keep my glance at his eyes and not anywhere else.

"Like what you see?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me. Gods, he's turning into Leo.

I ignored him, going for another eye roll. "Do you know when breakfast starts?" He shrugged his shoulders in reply. "Wow. Thanks for the help." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. I grabbed the skull door-handle [yeah, I know] and stepped into the cool, morning air, shivering at the cold wind that swept across my skin.

Looking at the still-dark sky, I swung the hoodie over my shoulders and ignored the shout from Nico, "Wait! Where are you going?".  I walked on, and as the empty dining hall came into distance, I noticed that they hadn't yet brought any food out, probably because it was so early in the morning. I preceded past the dining hall and my stomach groaned in protest, in harmony with the groan I had made for knowing that I would have to wait a few hours till the food came out. Putting my hands in my pockets, I strolled to the edge of the forest, than preceded and went in deeper.

Trying to take my mind off food, I started singing Wings by Birdy.

Sunlight comes creeping in

Illuminates our skin

We watch the day go by

Stories of all we did

It made me think of you

It made me think of you

Under a trillion stars
