To Where I Ran Away From

Pietra's P.o.V

When was this going to end? It felt like we had been walking for hours! I was about to ask Nico how much longer we would have to walk, until I looked up and saw that we were walking into a dead end.
That's convenient.
It's just a guess, but I'm thinking that we're lost. Very lost.

Anger started flashing in my eyes and I'm sure that if this were a cartoon, I would have steam blasting out of my ears. I turned to Nico, ready to scream at him for making me walk all this way when it undoubtedly wasn't even in the right direction. He probably never even knew which way he was going!
Jerk.
I suddenly heard murmurs and I pulled my mind away from the wonderful thought of punching Nico in the face and looked up to see him muttering, his eyes focused on the dirt wall in front of him.
Suddenly he flung his hand out and the wall crumbled in front of us, allowing the sunshine to stream in.
Ahem, say what?

I looked at Nico in surprise. "How did you do that?" I asked, completely awestruck.
"Oh, can't you!" Nico exclaimed with mock surprise. He rolled his eyes when he saw me narrow mine.
Ha, well i'll show him, little did he know...
I looked down at the dirt that Nico had destroyed, concentrating on it fiercely.

If this doesn't work, this is going to be so embarrassing.
I stuck my hand out and the dirt started moving in formation connecting with each other and filling the gap Nico had made in the wall. Slowly, but surely, the dirt inched itself up, filling the gap and making Nico's smirk fade.
I smirked at him some more and stuck my hand out to make the wall collapse again.
"Piece. Of. Cake." I glanced at my nails, smirking.

"H-h-how did you do that?" He stuttered, finally managing to get the words out.
I furrowed my eyebrows. How had I never thought to ask myself that question?
"I don't know..." I replied, wondering for myself how I actually did that.
"Okay, well, my father is Hades, that's how I can do it. But you?" He ran his fingers through his hair.
"Maybe Hades is my dad." I suggested, instantly regretting the thought.
Oh Gods, I hope Nico isn't my brother because he would be so annoying. And how could I ever think that he's hot if he was my brother.
Wait- hold the phone! Did I just say that- I mean, think that?! What is wrong with me!

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts away, before stepping out of the cave. My lungs screamed with joy because of the torrent of fresh air that blew my hair back off my face. I laughed and whooped at the top of my lungs.
I turned around with a huge smile on my face to see Nico chuckling at me.
"What?" I asked him, furrowing my eyebrows. Did I have something on my face? Was this the part where he was going to push me off the ledge so I could fall to my death?
Dam it! Why didn't I listen to Max and Jacob when they told me about stranger danger?

"You have a cute laugh." Nico replied. I looked back to the amazing view, completely missing what he had just said.
"Sorry, what was that?"
"Um, nothing?" Nico replied, his statement sounding like a question.
"Oh, okay." I said, looking back to the view from the Hollywood sign.

A few minutes later, Nico put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm going to take you back to Camp Half Blood, Pietra, so you can get claimed, and if nothing happens, we'll go to Olympus to ask the Gods." Nico told me as he looked out to the view.
I felt like someone had knocked the breath out of my lungs as he mentioned 'going back to Camp Half Blood'.
"You do realise that I ran away from Camp Half Blood because I didn't want to be there, and now you think I would want to go along with your stupid plan to go back?" I snapped at Nico.
He looked back at me and rubbed the back of his neck lowering his eyes from mine.
Okay, maybe I was a bit harsh, but that doesn't mean I'm going to say sorr-
No!
I'm not going to say it.

I sighed, "Look, thank you for getting me out of the Underworld and everything but I can't go with you back to CHB."
One day, I'll shoot my mouth....
why does it have to be so disobedient?

He looked at me, concern visible in his eyes, "But where are you going to go?".

I shrugged back at him, "Well, I'll look around to try and find my brothers but I have no idea where they are, they're constantly moving around." This was obviously the wrong thing to do because Nico's face hardened and his eyes darkened. Oh crap.
He snaked his arm around my waist,
"No, it's too dangerous to be out alone." he said forcefully.
"Let me go." I said to him darkly.
He hugged me tighter, wrapping his other arm around me as well,

"No, I can't."

I was about to turn around and step down hard on his foot, when I suddenly felt the familiar rush of shadows enveloping me. Yep, shadow travel.
The shadows started to fade but I still felt Nico's arm wrapped tightly around my waist and his stone hard chest against my back.
I blinked a few times and a clearing came into view. My vision consumed rows of strawberry plants and I heard the rowdy chatter of teenagers.
My eyes proved them to be more than teens. They were teens with weapons, and serious parent issues.
Yep, demigods, I've seen them before.

Gods, he brought me to CHB. I turned around and elbowed Nico in the gut. Nico grunted, loosening his grip on me. I swiftly punched him in the jaw, and around 20 demigods came to watch our budding fight.
He put me into a headlock, hugging me from behind, while I tried to pry his arm from my throat. He was stronger than he looked, which was pretty dam strong.
I quickly brought my foot up in between his legs and he jumped back, groaning in pain. I was about to shadow travel my way outta there when a sword appeared at the tip of my throat.

I turned around to see who the swords' owner was and I was greeted be a smirking, sea-green eyed guy.
I swiftly pulled out my dagger and knocked his sword away from my throat. The sword twisted  in the air and I leapt forward to catch it. I pointed it to him and a little drop of blood fell down his throat as I tore a bit of his skin with the sword nicely on his neck. Mission accomplished.
I handed the sword back to the guy, and started to make my way over to the forest.
I turned around, hearing collective laughter, and I kept my expression blank as my mind wondered desperately what the Hades was going on.

My eyes widened as I realised what was happening. I turned around, drawing my sword in the process. My sword clanged against Nico's stygion iron one. Apparently he had recovered from his little 'injury'.
He must've shadow travelled, using the 'surprise attack' tactic.
We sparred, blocked and parried, Nico was a great sword fighter (don't tell him that) but I was better.
Of course I was better.

That was until he shadow travelled behind me, forcing me to turn around, and then shadow travelled back to where he originally was. I spun around too late, and was backed into a tree. He leaned forward, pushing my hands back against the tree, forcing me to drop my sword which was currently in Celestial Bronze mode [sucking out souls right now probably wasn't a good idea).

I suddenly had an idea, and don't you dare say it's cheating.
I stopped struggling, and put my most seductive expression on and bit my lip. At first he had no idea what was happening, and looked at me strangely while I mentally rolled my eyes. He weakened his grasp as I leaned in, batting my eyelashes. Gulping, he leaned in more. I used that to my advantage and quickly spun him around so his back was to the tree and my dagger was rested against his chest. Sucker!
"Hey! Careful of the shirt!" He protested, and I rolled my eyes.
I put my dagger back in me belt. "And she wins again!" Let's put an emphasis on the word 'again'.

He looked down and was silent.
Yes, hang your head in shame...
No, that's just mean.
Anyway, I could tell he was deep in thought and I decided not to disturb him because since an hour ago, when I first met him, I'd never even thought he had a brain to think with.
"Please, just stay for 1 night and then if you want to, you can leave." He said to me quietly, meeting my gaze before looking down. He looked so....ahh! How can I possibly say no to that face!
I thought about it, then rested my hand on his jaw which I had previously punched,  "Are you okay?" He flinched from my touch and I smirked while I removed my hand. Oh how I love making people feel uncomfortable.

He stared deep into my eyes.
Whatever he was doing it was working...
"And fine, i'll stay for a night."
