Capture the Flag

Nico's POV

I woke up snuggling into something soft, warm....and breathing? I reluctantly opened my eyes and I saw Pietra sleeping peacefully, her eyes closed and her hair framing her face. She looked even more beautiful than usual.

You are sooooo creepy, watching her sleep!

Hey! I'm not creepy, I'm badass!

Nope, you're just an idiot. What if she wakes up?

Urgh whatever, she ain't gonna wake up. Why am I even talking to myself? "Urgh", I swear on the River Styx I am going crazy.

Pietra stirred and her eyes fluttered open. "Mmm, Nico?" She looked into my eyes than glanced down. It took me a second to realise that she was looking at my shirtless body and I fought a smirk. "What are you doing here?" I narrowed my eyes as I remembered what she had said to me last night.

Pietra sighed. "I came in last night to try and say sorry to you but when I came in the cabin, you were drinking redbull by the case and Black Veil Brides was blasting through your speakers. I threw the empty cans out and then sang to you to try and get you to go to sleep so you could snooze it off."

I hadn't remembered the events of last night but it didn't surprised me that I had been drinking redbull. I usually did that when I felt depressed.
"Nico, I'm sorry about what I said. I didn't mean it." Pietra looked me straight in the eyes, biting her lip nervously.
"I just don't want anything to happen to you." I shook my head, "and it's fine. Don't worry about it Stone." I smirked at Pietra. She smiled and did something that caught me by surprise. She jumped up and hugged me.

Sparks erupted through out my body and I wrapped my arms around her small waist and squeezed tight, nuzzling into her neck.

Letting go of me, Pietra nodded to the bathroom, " I'm gonna be in the shower."

"Okay."

Pietra's Pov

Nico and I walked out of the cabin, eager to have breakfast, and headed to the big house. Although I had been claimed be Aphrodite and Athena, I still sat with Nico in the Hades cabin.
I burnt my offering to Hades, just because I could, and sat back down with Nico. As soon as I sat down, Nico and everyone else in the camp stared at me.
And when I say 'staring', I mean everyone was turned towards me, examining what I was doing. 

Yeesh! This is awkward.... and kinda creepy. I awkwardly swallowed my piece of bacon. "Okay, why are you all staring at me, what have I done?" I shouted out rolling my eyes.

A couple of people started muttering to the people beside them and Nico was smirking at me. He motioned for me to look up so I did, rolling my eyes.
I was met with a glowing caduceus, the symbol of the god of messengers, travellers and thieves.

"Hermes."
I was met with a roar of shouts and whoops, and the whole of the Hermes cabin were up on their feet, surrounding me and closing in. "Can't- br-breath!" I gasped, and they finally let me go.

This was getting too weird. If another god claims me, i am going to freak out!
Soon this will all be figured out, when I get to Olympus, everything will go back to normal... I hope.
Chiron started tapping his hoof on the wooden stage. "Demigods, enough! Settle down!"

People kept on muttering, but I was really curious about what ol' Horse Butt wanted to say. I turned around and stuck my thumb and middle finger in my mouth and blew hard, letting out a shrill whistle that made everyone cringe. "Shut up!" I shouted, and then turned back to Chiron as if nothing had happened.

Nico, who was sitting closest, rubbed his ears and moaned, so I whacked him over the head- as you do.
Chiron rolled his eyes. "Eer, okay. We are going to have a game of capture the flag in about ten minutes and EVERYONE has to participate. Yep, I'm looking at you Nico. Remember the rules, no maiming or causing of serious injuries/deaths, or that person will have stable duty for a month."

The Ares cabin groaned and I reminded myself to stay away from them.
"Remember also that the river is the boundary. Here are the teams- Hades, Athena, Poseidon, Hephaestus, Hypnos and Aphrodite are team 1. Team 2 consists of Hermes, Ares, Zeus, Demeter, Apollo and Dionysius. Good luck Heroes!"

My team was the blue team, and apparently, according to some Aphrodite barbie dolls, the blue on my armour made my dark eyes pop. I didn't really get how, considering I have brown eyes, but whatever. I rolled my eyes at the thought of actually making an effort to wear blue.

"Okay, so here is the plan." Annabeth commanded, the tone of her voice reminding everyone that SHE was in charge. "Aphrodite and Hephaestus will be defending the flag which is sticking out of the poop pile. Hypnos and Athena will go up and attack in the centre of the forest, distracting the red team from the Hades cabin, who will go up the left wing, and Poseidon, who will go up the right."

It seemed like a good enough plan and I felt confident as the conch horn sounded, indicating the game was beginning. I jogged up the right side of the forest with Nico, keeping my hand on the hilt of my sword at all times. I willed my blade to be celestial bronze so I didn't suck the soul out of any demigods.
That wouldn't be to good, would it?

After climbing through trees and branches, I finally saw the flag at the top of a tree.
VICTORY!!!
Nico had caught sight of it too, and we were both staring up at it, waiting to see if there were any guards.
 Sure enough, Jason came into view, flying around the flag, sword at the ready. I then glanced down to see no one guarding the bottom of the tree.

Nico nodded to me, and we sprinted to the tree, flinging ourselves onto it and clambering up it. Suddenly, a hand grabbed the back of my shorts and flung me to the ground.
I quickly jumped up and unsheathed my sword which was just as well because it clanged against a spear around 1 milliseconds after.

The person I was sparring with was a buff-looking girl, with brown hair and beady eyes. She was most likely a kid of Ares. My sword clanged against her spear as we slashed and parried and blocked and hacked. She seemed surprised at my talent and I smirked.
Unfortunately, she managed to knock the sword right out of my hands and the smirk on my face had moved on to hers. I hand-sprung back and ripped my necklace of a bow and arrow off my neck and it transformed into a full sized bow and arrow. I felt a weight on my back and it was a quiver stocked with arrows.
I quickly shot the girl down and then got an arrow and pinned her by her armour to the ground.
Once again, I smirked and than looked up to see Nico jumping down and landing a few metres away from me. The flag was trailing behind him, like a parachute, and when he landed, he ran over to the river, me chasing after him.

When he got their with the flag the blue team cheered and raised both Nico and I on their shoulders. Well that happy moment ended quickly when they dropped me on my ass in shock.

"Hey! What was that for?" I yelled at them, while I stood up and rubbed my sore butt.
They were looking at something floating above my head. I looked up in time to see a glowing spear above my head, the symbol of Ares. It then changed to a symbol of a Wolf howling to a moon, the never seen before claiming of Artemis.

"Oh Styx."
