Declaration: Chiron is Stupid

Pietra's P.O.V

As Nico and I reached our cabin, a thought struck me like a lightning bolt.
"Di Angelo?"
"Hm?" He swung open the door of our cabin, barely even hearing me as he drowned himself in his thoughts.
"Nico. Earth to Nico." I shoved him gently [not really, but I'll put that there to make me look nice] on the shoulder, as an attempt to get his attention. He blinked and his eyes met mine as he through his hands up in the air, turning so he was facing me.
"Ow!" He complained, rolling his eyes at me. I returned his glare with a raised eyebrow and shoved him again.
"Okay, I'm listening!"I rolled my eyes at him.
"Where was Lucas when Chiron told us to pack our bags? Shouldn't he have been there to talk about the quest, it is his first one." Nico thought about it, which must've been hard for him since he didn't have a brain, and returned his gaze back to mine.
"Where did he go once he was claimed?" I sighed, what I wanted was an answer, not another thing to think about.
"Khione would probably have asked to speak to her son privately and gotten Chiron to go away while she talked to her son, but did Chiron go back to check on Lucas after?"Oh crap, this is not good.

Nico's P.O.V

I quickly grabbed Pietra's waist and shadow travelled us back to the Big House. We had to see Chiron, it was an emergency. What would happen with the quest if Khione had already taken away one of the heroes?We banged on the door to Chiron's office, not waiting for a reply and barging in.
We were met by a concerned looking Chiron, which made us worry even more.

"Ah, demigods! Do you know where Lucas is? I've been trying to talk to him about the quest, but I couldn't find him after I left him to speak to his mother, Khione." He gave us a hopeful expression, and frowned slightly when we didn't say, 'Don't worry Chiron! Lucas has been picking strawberries and singing nursery rhymes with us!' while wearing a huge smiley face. Instead, Pietra and I gasped in synchronisation and turned to each other with 'panic' written on our foreheads.
"You left her alone, with Khione?!" Pietra turned back to him and I followed in suit, anger flashing in her eyes. As for myself, I was shocked that he was so stupid, although I can't say the same for Pietra.

"I knew you were stupid, why did I leave anything up to you!" Pietra shouted at him, running a hand through her hair. I grabbed Pietra's arm, pulling her over to me, and looked up at Chiron.
"I don't know whether or not Lucas is still in camp, wandering around and getting harassed by Travis and Connor, or if he has been taken by Khione, but before we do anything, Pietra and I need to know about the quest." Pietra, now calm, looked up at me appreciatively with a small nod, than shifted her gaze to Chiron.

Chiron sighed and shook his head, "Yes boy, sorry, you are right. Do you remember the sword that I was talking about before, the one that was triumphant over all?"
Are you kidding me, that has been running through my mind since the time he told us. Pietra and I gave him a small nod, and signalled for him to go on.
"That sword, The Sword of Peleus, has been stolen, and this is terrible news for the gods and for anyone. If a monster has gotten a hold on that sword, that monster will always be triumphant in battle. Same goes for a Titan, a God...." Chiron trailed off, listing different people and things that might have the sword.
"Heroes, that's what you need to find- The Sword of Peleus- and bring it back to the demigods. As well as this, you will need to find Lucas, I am terribly sorry demigods, this wasn't meant to happen, it was completely my fault." He finished with a crestfallen face, and what sounded like a guilty conscience.
Let's just say Pietra didn't make it better.

"Chiron, don't worry, we know it's your fault, but I have a question about the Sword. How are we meant to get the sword back if it always wins?"

Chiron shook his head, "Wits. Use your inner Athena and find a way to take the sword back to where it belongs."
"Thankyou, Chiron." I nodded to him and he mirrored me.
"Go finish packing your bags."

As we walked away, Pietra shoved me in the ribs. "This guy gave us a life threatening quest, and you say 'thankyou'?"
"I was just being polite, Stone, ever heard of that before?"
She rolled her eyes and smirked, "No, not really."

I'm sorry that this was a late update, I have been pretty busy the last few days, and have been struggling to find time to write this chapter. Sorry, I'm not trying to make excuses- okay, I am- but I swear it won't happen next time. And I'm not doing that on the River Styx. #sorrynotsorry
