Pietra's P.O.V
It was to the point, where I was literally crawling up the flights of stairs, wailing for dramatic effect, and puffing like a steam engine, that we finally stopped at the door that said, 'Level 6'. Nico wrenched the door open, breathing completely normally, and not even looking the slightest bit tired.
This is so unfair.
I muttered a 'thanks', and stumbled through the doorway, before plopping down on the carpet, and leaning against the cream coloured wall. I didn't even have to look up to know that Nico rolled his eyes once he came through the doorway. The door clanged shut behind him, and I could feel his gaze on me.
We stayed there for around 2 minutes, me collapsed on the floor, and Nico calmly soaking up the surroundings. I swear I was nodding off to sleep, when I felt a strong arm grip around my waist, and another underneath my knees.
Let's just say, I may have freaked out...
I thrashed around and rolled away from the arms that were about to lift me, a startled shout flying out of my mouth.
"WHAT THE HADES!"
When I finally glanced up at the person who was trying to lift me, I bit my lip, and furrowed my eyebrows. "Sorry-"
"Don't worry about it." Nico replied, cutting me off midsentence, his voice filled with amusement. I shrugged, "You scared me, I didn't even know it was you."
He shook his head, a smile tugging on his mouth, and held out a hand to help me up. I gratefully took it, and pulled myself up off the ground, before reaching my hands up in the air and stretching.
I glanced back down at the room cards, and read aloud the numbers of our rooms. "656, and 658. I can't wait to have a shower, or even a bath..." My voice trailed off as I imagined the boiling hot water trailing down my back, as well as soaking in a steaming spa-bath, jets creating bubbles in the water. I followed Nico, who had chosen 1 of the 2 hallways to follow to get to our rooms.
It wasn't long until...
Nico's P.O.V
"How much do you weigh???" I groaned, stopping for a second to hitch her up on my back.
"I haven't had a piggy back since...well, since ages..." Pietra trailed off, resting her head into the back of my neck, and absent-mindedly playing with my hair.
I rolled my eyes, smiling to myself, and glanced back to the doors of the rooms that we were passing.
"Number 653, 654, 655, 656!" I gave a little jump in excitement (which was hard to do considering I had a dead weight clinging to me like a koala to a tree), and shuffled a little bit closer to the door, receiving the room card off Pietra, and inserting it into the mechanical lock.
A green light, and a beep later, the door clicked open, and I nudged it with my shoulder to make the opening wider, before waltzing through the doorway.
I dropped Pietra off my back, and felt around the walls for a light switch. Once I found one, I flicked it, and light swept through the room.
Pietra and I gasped in synchronisation.
It was beautiful.
The doorway opened up into a large room, with a pitch-black couch that sat in front of a flat-screened TV. A room led off from it, into a bedroom that was complete with a double-bed, a wheely/spinney chair, and a walk-in-wardrobe at the end. Attached to that room, was a bathroom that was fit for the Gods. It had marble tiles, a huge bath that sat next to a full wall window, that looked over the city, and an open shower next to it, along with a double basin opposite.
I could also see another door inside the bathroom, that must've led to a room with a toilet inside.
Right next to us, was a kitchenette embedded into the wall, and I dropped my card down on the countertop.
"Wow." I breathed, and in the corner of my eye, I saw Pietra slowly nod her head in agreement. We just stood there for 30 seconds, soaking it all in.
Over and over, I scanned the room, noticing things that I hadn't seen before. Candles, paintings, sculptures, and somehow, the first time I examined the room, I managed to miss the huge balcony at the end, that looked over the lighted-up city, complete with a hammock, and lounging chairs.Suddenly, Pietra ran-away, and I flung myself around, noticing her disappearance. I poked my head into the hallway, and saw her pushing her card into the door next to my room. She flung the door open, and burst through, and I followed her quickly, wondering if her room was the same.
It was identical to mine, except hers had a maniac doing 'superman' onto the couch.
I laughed as she bounced off the couch (unintentionally) and fell to the floor. I plonked myself down on the couch, and grabbed the remote, before remembering that I should lock the door to my room.
