Huge thanks to annabanananaz12 for her brilliant ideas!!!!

Nico's P.O.V

30 minutes had gone by and Pietra still wasn't back. Lucas' plan of exit from this freaking freezing place (although he seemed completely fine with the dangerously low room temperature), is for Stone to shadow travel us to the bottom of the mountain. Although for some reason, I have the feeling that without Pietra herself, we wouldn't quite make the exit.

I was extremely uncomfortable with this plan and I think Lucas could tell considering the ice around me had turned jet black. It pretty much looked like my ass was emitting ink that spread itself across the ice. Beautiful.
The plan was really risky, and it could do some serious damage to Pietra's health, shadow traveling all that way with 2 other people. She wasn't as used to shadow travelling as I was, so something completely wrong could occur, and we really did not need to have another thing to deal with other than just, you know, saving the world.

Worst of all (like even above the 'getting left here to rot while Pietra gets stabbed to death on the other side of the castle') was the fact that Lucas was trying to make small talk.
He had continuously been asking me random questions for the past however many minutes (it felt more like however many hours) as an attempt to, in his words, 'get to know me better'.

"What's your favourite colour?"
"What's your favourite book?"
"How do you even lift that sword?"
"Do you have a middle name?"
"Does Hades make 'dad jokes'?
"Do you just pop into the Underworld like 'Hey, howdy-doo'?
"Are you gay?"
"Do you sleep in a coffin sometimes?"

It had gone on and on and on...
"So, what's the deal with you and Pietra anyway?" He asked, before shuffling back when I replied with a death glare.
"Okay, kid, I'm sorry but I really am not up for chit chat, so please would you just shut up?" The dark halo around me seeped further out through the ice. In the corner of my eye, I saw Lucas look down, shuffling back a little bit from the edge of the black.
I sighed, "Look, I'm sorry, I'm just really worried about Pietra." He nodded in reply and we waited for a few moments, complete silence filling the empty halls of the castle. The sound of Lucas placing the palm of his hand on the black ice that surrounded me, caught my attention. "DON'T-" I was cut short when the ice around his hand suddenly faded back into it's blue-whitish colour.
Lucas glanced down at it, surprise completely void of his facial features.
"How-" I began, but at that moment, the sound of footsteps echoed into the room, and Pietra came running down the ice, an excited look on her face.
Hopefully this meant that she had found something out and not that she was being chased through the palace.

I tried not to look like I was too relieved (I don't need to look even creepier) as Pietra stopped next to me, her grin covering her entire face. I cautiously stood, "Why are you smiling so much, it's kind of creeping me out..."
Pietra rolled her eyes and nudged me softly in the ribs, and then held up a piece of parchment that looked like it was off the set of Harry Potter. "Nice, old paper. Great job." I said, raising an eyebrow at her.
"It's a message from Geia! There's hundreds of these stacked up in this hidden room- most of them are unreadable because of their poor condition, but I think we should read the other so we can get the most information out of them."

Message from Geia? This could be the most vital piece of information for this quest, whether we have the right info or not, could make or break our success.
But something told me that something bad was going to happen if we mess around any more with Geia's letters.

"What does that one say on it?" I asked, trying to decide whether we should go back and read them, or just focus on getting down from this freezing hell hole. "That's the thing, this one says the location of the attack." Her quiet voice seemed to make any other sound that was present in the world completely silent.
We stood there in silence, before Lucas (who to be honest, I had kind of forgotten about) piped up, "Well, where is it!?"
Pietra flicked her tongue over her lips, holding the piece of parchment closer to her body. "Australia."

Lucas' P.O.V

We stood there in silence for a little while longer, allowing what felt like a completely unreliable 'fact' register. "Yeah, but why would Khi-"
"...Khione, Goddess of Ice want to to Australia, where it's like 90% desert?" Pietra finished off for me, shaking her head.
I let out a yawn, rubbing my eyes, "It just doesn't make sense."
Nico leaned his weight onto one side, crossing his arms, "First of all, I believe the name is 'straya, 2nd of all, it's very, tree-y down there-
"tree-y?"
"Shut up."
Pietra straightened, "And remember, Khione is taking orders from Geia, who's all about the wild and weird insects, I'm assuming."
I cleared my throat, "Okay, well, I guess we're going down-under.
