Nico's P.O.V
You have no idea what I'm going through right now.
My hands are shaking, sweat is dripping down my neck, I can barely breathe and I feel as if I'm about to throw up.
And worst of all, Pietra had slipped her hand into mine, probably upon noticing my panic, which made me light up like a fire-engine. I mean, it wasn't the fact that she had held my hand that I felt embarrassed (okay, maybe a little bit), but it was the fact that my hand was dripping with sweat and I looked like a worried idiot. But come on, we were in Zeus' domain! How could I not be worried!
We hit some turbulence and I let out a whimper, before turning into a tomato. "Nico," Pietra squeezed my hand. "you have to calm down. We are going to be fine." She rested her head on my tense shoulder, then closed her eyes. I relaxed, Pietra's head dropping with my shoulders.
In the corner of my eye, I saw her smile, before nuzzling her head into my against my neck. I squeezed her small hand, while closing my eyes and resting my head against hers. Before I knew it, my feet were on the ground, and my heart was out of my throat.
"Earth! Sweet earth! Thanks the gods we're back on ground!" I dropped to my knees and kissed the ground of the airport. "Yeah, whatever." Pietra crossed her arms on her chest, shifting her weight to the side. "Once you're finished with your 'smooching session', we have a son of Khione to rescue." She smirked, putting out her hand for me to take. I pulled myself up, and scratched the back of my neck, letting out a nervous chuckle. "Yeah- sorry."
Pietra rolled her eyes, before swinging her backpack over her shoulder, and trudging over to the exit. With me trailing right behind Pietra, she pushed through the doors, before recoiling in shock and slamming back into my chest. The doors clanged shut, her scream ringing in my ears, as she pushed me away from the exit. I stumbled back, "Geez, what's wrong?" I pushed against her while she made a failed attempt to shove me away from the door.
"It's flippin' freezing!" She gasped, her teeth chattering as she pushed against me. I held my ground, as her feet slipped against the floor.I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, maybe because you're wearing a 'tank-top'." I muttered to her, before shrugging of my black leather jacket and passing wrapping it over her shoulders, exposing my 'That awkward moment when I catch you trying to reach my t-shirt' shirt. She glanced up to me in surprise, and I raised an eyebrow at her when she shook her head and shrugged it off her shoulders. "No, it's okay, I've got a hoodie. Thanks though." She unzipped her backpack and tugged a thick, black hoodie out of the bag, before quickly zipping it back up and throwing it over her head.
She shifted the hood on her head and glanced up at me, throwing me a gorgeous smile. I threw my leather jacket back on my shoulders, and then smiled back to Pietra, before draping my arm over her shoulder and hugging her close. She raised an eyebrow at me.
"Body warmth." I reasoned, shrugging at her, before kicking the door open. As we plunged into the night, we were met by a blast of cold wind, almost knocking us back."We have to find a place to stay." I pulled Pietra closer, trying to maintain body warmth as we stumbled along the bumpy path. "There should be one around here, there has to be some sort of hotel near an airport." I tried to keep my teeth from chattering while Pietra nodded in response. "Y-yeah, Narsasuaq a-airport- t-there has t-to be some-th-thing." She stuttered back, before burrowing her head in my chest. I rolled my eyes, grinning , before scanning the street around us, trying to find some place to stay.
We stumbled further down the street, before we found an old-ish hotel, light streaming out from the 20 (something like that) windows that looked over onto the street. I squeezed Pietra's shoulder, and she lifted her head from my chest to glance at the hotel. She nodded to me, and I steered Pietra over to the entrance of the hotel. I grabbed the handle of the door, and swung it open, holding the door for Pietra before wrenching it shut behind me. I was met by a sudden warmth, and could I just say, it was extremely welcome. I looked over to Pietra, and saw her face (which had turned almost as pale as mine from the cold) change back to it's usual olive colour, as she shrugged off her jacket and embraced the warmth.
