A Million Stars, A Million Feelings

Pietra's POV

Nico and I laid down on the grass, enjoying the beauty of the luminous forest around us. Vines, which were draped around trees, gave off a turquoise glow while leaves fluttered down from their branches, glowing in brilliant shades of red. The grass that we were laying on was softly glowing green, and flowers that grew at the base of trees and among the grass, shone in all different colours, bathing us in a rainbow light. As my head hit the soft grass, I noticed the stars that shone so brightly above me, and pointed my index finger to the stars and joined the dots, making constellations.

"How did you find this place Nico?" I asked, turning my head to face him. He turned over to look at me, and I noticed how close our faces were together. He seemed to realise as well and I saw his Adam's apple bob up and down as he gulped. "

Ah, I-I found this when I ran away from camp when Bia-" he stopped himself but I knew what he was about to say. 

When Bianca died.

I wanted him to be able to open up to me, I wanted to hear his past, not from Percy and co - but from the man himself.

Man? Wait, he's a man?
Now is not the time to fail at being funny.
Sorry master.
Anyway, I want him to trust me enough to open up to me. I took a deep breath. Maybe, for Nico to trust me, I need to trust Nico. I took another deep breath, getting ready to launch in to the story of my life.

"I never had any parents who looked after me when I was younger, and I spent a long time trying to find out who my parents were. I finally realised that I didn't care about them. I didn't care what their excuse was for abandoning me. I didn't care if they actually treated me with love if I ever met them, they missed out on 15 years of that.

"When I was really young, I was found by a nymph in the woods near Camp Half-Blood. She looked after me for a while, but I couldn't stay with her. I saw how she cared for her children, and treated me like one of them, but I wanted a real parent to turn to. 

"I ended up staying with the Nymph till I was 5, and then I ran away. 2 guys found me (they're like my brothers now) and I stayed with them. Later, I came back to Camp Half-Blood on the holidays. During one holiday, I ran away from Camp. I didn't fit in and Chiron, well, he HATED me. And when I say hated, I mean, he couldn't even look at me without turning away in disgust. Or so I thought. I think he had an idea on how dangerous I was, now that I look back on it, he seemed more scared of me than disgusted." 

I paused for a moment and shook my head in disbelief. Maybe I had been thinking wrong, though that didn't change my dislike for Chiron.

"Anyway, I ran away and I met back up with my brothers who were 6 years older than me. I'll do the maths for you considering, well, It's you. They were 18." I finished proudly. Nico sat up.

"That's not even right! If they were 6 years older than you and you were 11, they would be 17!" Nico said in defense, throwing his hands up in the air.

Dam, he's right. 

"I know genius, that's what I said." I shrugged and then quickly went on before he could protest.
"They took me in, and they became brothers to me. I lived with them and they are the closest thing to family I have ever known, even more than the Nymph. I haven't seen them in 6 months though. 

"The guy who found me is called Jacob, and his real bro, Hunter, and they introduced me to their friends who all aren't really brothers, but act like it. The only reason I left was because I wanted to learn more about me. I told them that I was going to try and find my family and find the information about me that I didn't know at that time.

"Things like my birthday, full name, if I had any brothers or sisters, where I was born, etcetera. I found out that I was born on the 16th of June, my full name is Pietra Grace Scuro and I was born in Australia. I don't believe I have any siblings but I'm not sure. I told the guys that I would be back by the end of the year and they will probably be a bit worried now. After I found all of that out, the Gods of Olympus teamed up to kill me. That was how you found me in the Underworld, and that is how I am here." 

He looked at me, all signs of annoyance gone from his face. He reached over and touched my hand that fit perfectly in his. "You want to go back to them, you miss them." Nico said and I gazed into the forest in front of me, avoiding eye contact with Nico, who was staring intently at me.

"No duh." I muttered, rubbing my eyes and letting out a soft yawn.
Nico took a deep breath and was about to say something, but he hesitated. He cleared his throat, "I was born in the 1940s, but my dad put me and my sister, Bianca, in a hotel called the Lotus Casino, where time flies by and you stay the same. Someone came and took us out of the casino a few years ago and we started going to a school which had a monster in it." He paused, "Well, we didn't mean to-"
"As if you would mean to, I mean, I know you aren't THAT bright, but I wouldn't think you're that thick." I interjected, rolling my eyes.

Nico started to protest against the 'not bright' thing, but I interrupted him again, "Just continue with your story." He rolled his eyes but did it anyway.
"So, we went to school and Grover-" I looked at him in confusion, "Oh, one of the satyrs, came to the school to try and get us to Camp, but he needed help so Percy, Annabeth and Thalia came along. They had to fight the monster but they were having trouble, but that was when the Hunter's of Artemis came and helped all of us. The monster took Annabeth with him though.

"The Hunters than asked if Bianca wanted to join them, and she agreed." He practically spat that last sentence out but then managed to regain his composure. "Everyone went back to Camp, including the Hunters, and stayed there for a day or so. Then suddenly a quest is launched because someone, or something rather, took Artemis while she was hunting for a huge monster. Both Annabeth and Artemis were taken by the same people/thing."

He shook his head, and scratched his neck with the hand that was not holding mine. And I'll just make clear how completely aware I was of his thumb drawing circles on my hand.

"Bianca went on the quest with Percy, Thalia and Zoe the leader of the Hunters. That was when Bianca died, sacrificing her life, for everyone else's."

I looked at Nico, who was gazing in the distance through the trees, and I shifted closer to him and gave him a hug. It took him by surprise, but I smiled when I felt his arms wrap around my waist, and his face bury into my neck.

"Pietra." Nico murmured. 
"Yeah."
"Thank you."

But seriously guys, I'm sorry, it was the first week of school and we had this huge concert we had to rehearse for and yeah. So that was my excuse!\
Please, I'm begging anyone, to message me a description of who Pietra's ex-boyfriend is. Please! *on knees begging*
And that was the time when you were meant to put the song on in the multimedia! It was on this really cheesy disney series I love watching, but please listen to it!

Annabeth- I better have not been part of the 'Percy and co.'
