"Huh?" He huffed at me as he kept walking with equipment.
"Can you come here?" I stressed as I tried to redirect him from Marley.
"Yeah jus lemme go set this down," Ruby responded. My face fell into my palm knowing that their reunion was inevitable, following the herd of guys toting equipment to the stage.
I rushed to keep up with Ruby, my mental histeria must've been unnoticeable. We entered the area they were playing in, Ruby placing equipment down. He stood back up, adjusting himself towards me, "What's up?"
"You free to talk later?," The voice interrupted. My head fell to the floor, seeing Ruby turn at the edge of my eye.
"Yeah i'm free to talk later," Ruby beamed.
"Aristos?" Marley questioned.
A silence fell upon the room besides the footsteps that constantly approached and left, along with the clambering of speakers and stands.
"Ruby," my head lifted, meeting two sets of eyes shooting me down.
"What a surprise.." I said unconfidently.
"Definitely is.." Ruby replied in almost the same tone, turning back to Marley, "It's been a minute bro, whatcha doin here?"
"Helping run the party.. you?" Marly replied passive aggressively.
"We are the party," He said sweetly, shoving a grin to Marley's face. He walked back towards me letting his arm trail across my back, "C'mon sweetheart, we got things to do."
We exited the room leaving Marley most likely speechless to say the least.
"Whatcha had to tell me?" Ruby asked.
I stopped walking with him, noticing he still had his arm wrapped around me, looking up to him with a stern face.
"Whatcha mad fo?" He questioned again.
I rolled my eyes while giving him a little shove as I continued walking. While we approached the door I turned back to him, "Just play nice tonight, okay?"
And of course. My only answer was a deviant smirk that fought to hide under his face. I made my way out the door, walking to Ruby's car, entering the drivers side. I reached into the back seat to grab my bag on the floor, selecting a ziplock bag from out of it. I reached into the center console to grab the pack of blunts sitting at the bottom, gutting it out, and rolling up a blunt.
I froze in the seat, looking around for a second as my bag and blunt sat on my lap. My stomach had a heart beat as my head whirled. I once again looked around to see the silent parking lot. The party was going to start soon.. I found myself slipping the ziplock back into my bag and reaching further in for a second, then taking my hand while grasping one of the bottles.
The pill dumped out the bottle into my hand then sat on the rolling tray I had used for the blunt, rolling the container it was in over it until it was crushed to powder. My heart raced more as my eyes burned up, opening up the zipper of my bag to pull out a straw cut off about half way. In an instant there was no trace left to be seen besides the chalky powder on the container and in my nose. I licked my finger, smudging it across the bottle, transfering the residue from my finger into my mouth. I dropped the bottle back into my bag along with the straw, then let the rush overflow my system. I sunk into the seat with heavy breaths as my eyes dropped.
"Yo?" Echoed from outside the car along with a tap on the glass.
My eyes opened, clicking the button to unlock the door, "yo."
"Wuchu doin in there?"
I opened the door, holding out the freshly rolled blunt.
"Mmm, must've read my mind huh."
