The rumbles of thunder woke me from my sleep, finding myself alone in Ruby's room. I rose from the bed, slipping on my shorts that were laying on the floor. I threw a blanket around me, then exited the room, making my way towards the illuminating kitchen.
"Isn't it a nice afternoon," Ruby said after sensing my presence entering the room, "want some coffee?"
"Mmh," I shrugged, walking over to the window. I glanced outside, looking at the thick black clouds that covered the sky, "best time of the year.." I scoffed.
"No better day to stay inside and chill," Ruby chirped.
I made my way to the sofa, plopping myself comfortably into it and clicking on the tv. Instantly, the news came on by broadcasting a weather warning for severe thunderstorms in the area.
Ruby brought two cups of coffee, sitting himself right next to me. He lingered for a second, then placed his hand on my leg. The only thing my brain was running on was the thought of Scrim coming back. Wishing I knew where he was and what he was doing besides what Ruby had already informed me previously.
"Scrims coming back?" I seductively asked Ruby, trying to cover up the obvious concern of his whereabouts.
"Hasn't been back yet shorty.. doubt he will be anytime soon," He declaimed.
"Mmmh..well could you just make sure? So we can lock up the house and get comfortable," I breathily proposed, sliding my body as close to him as possible.
"Of course," He agreed with a pleasant smile on his face, wrapping one arm around my waist and using the other to grab his phone out of his pocket.
Ruby unlocked his phone and proceeded to the phone app, calling Scrim. I reached over to grab the blunt sitting at the corner of the table to avoid exposing my rapid heart rate to Ruby. My head whirled hoping Scrim would answer, hoping he wouldn't be where he's supposedly at. I knew if he didn't answer then I was faced with the fact that I would now have to let go. I was overwhelmed by the fact that i'd ever be in this situation, stuck between two opportunities but having to choose one.
"I'll leave him a text," Ruby said, throwing his phone off to the side and positioning himself behind me.
I picked up the blunt, pressing it to my lips and lighting it up. I pushed myself back into Ruby, feeling his hands roam my stomach softly.
"I've always wanted to be this close to you," He quietly growled, grasping onto the blunt I offered to him.
I flipped myself around so that we were face to face. I straddled onto him, looking into his eyes as the smoke escaped from his mouth. He placed the blunt between my lips as his eyes followed his hand, trailing down from my neck, to my chest, to my stomach, to my hips. I couldn't help but feel the satisfaction pulse through me because of the way he evaluated me. My hips swayed, craving to be touched.
His hand found its way up my shirt as he began gripping my chest. I adjusted myself onto him so that I was grinding against his lap to increase the pleasure. Ruby rapidly removed my shirt then paused to look at me.
Last night had only gone so far on my part, and this was pushing the limit I had before. I tilted my head down at Ruby, connecting contact with his puppy dog eyes, I pulled him into me as a way to tell him yes. He wrapped his arms around me, tightly holding me as he let his tongue lead around my chest, teasing me with bites.
The tighter he squeezed the faster thoughts flowed through my mind. It was such a bad time to process the whole fiasco I called business the night before. A groan slipped from Ruby's mouth that slipped me back into the moment, feeling his hand fiddle with my waist band.
"Rubs," I muttered.
"Mmh?" He mumbled as his mouth was leached onto my skin.
"I need to take my medicine," I quietly said.
his mouth released, looking up to me with puppy dog eyes once again, still holding me tightly, "just a few more minutes."
"In a few more minutes I'll forget," I jeered, unlocking myself from his embrace.
I made my way to the bathroom, tears forming faster than the twisted thoughts of Marley that occupied my mind. I locked the door and turned the faucet on, dropping down onto the cold floor trying to quietly contain myself. My teeth began to chatter as my body quivered. My mind was racing between my supposed best friend completely betraying me and that I was moving too quickly with Ruby.
My breaths began to shorten as I tried to catch my mind as it dropped deeper and deeper.
Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.
I was pulled out of the trance by a muffled bang l. I stood up, taking off the water, and began drying my face up somewhat calmer as the silence rested.
Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud..
A burst shook the walls and rattled my bones, kicking my anxiety back up. I quickly unlocked the door, swinging it open and dashing down the hall.
"What the fuck man? Forreal? We wasn't on this shit no mo, Where the fuck is she Ruby?!"
A voice I could only identify as Scrim, roaring through the house.
