"Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?" Kol asks me as we pull into Garrett's driveway.
"You've already asked that like ten times." I sigh and turn to him. "I truly don't need a babysitter. I have this all under control and I will be fine."
"You said that last time." He turns from me to my dad's house then back to me. "You harmed yourself Violet." I can't tell if his voice holds anger or sadness. "If I wouldn't have forgotten my keys I would've never found out that you literally harmed yourself."
"You're being dramatic." I roll my eyes. "I didn't harm myself that bad." I say to try to lighten up the mood.
"No Violet, you don't understand." He scolds me. "Seeing you the way I did reminded me of how many times I saw my mom in that same position." I freeze at that. "You were so out of it at that moment and it scared me fucking shitless."
Seeing Kol like this makes my heart hurt. The last time I saw him like this was back in elementary school. Kol progressively became more guarded and started using personal dark humor to cope. Just like Aiden also uses personal dark humor to cope.
Kol and Aiden are so similar. Even down to the way where you had to speak to them when they are distressed.
Having two people really close to you that are so similar is not always a good thing. Especially when they are pissed or under a lot of stress.
I quickly take ahold of his hands. "I'll never harm myself again. You have my word Kol." I say and he squeezes my hand.
"Promise?" He asks me and I nod.
"Yes, I promise." I say and he nods.
"Okay." He does a little small nod "Then I trust you." He says and I softly let go of him. "I should probably get going. Your brother probably will call me soon if I'm not home." He says and I nod.
"He worries about you a lot." I say as I take off my seatbelt and grab all the belongings I found from Blaise, Hunter and Ashton's house.
"Yeah, he's clingy as fuck." Kol laughs and then motions his head to the house. "Call me if anything okay?" He says and I nod.
