~NOTES~
I wrote this very quickly, just so that I had something to post. It took me some time because something quite tragic happened recently and I needed time to myself to process things. Anyhow, here's a chapter. This chapter is set in the Nickelodeon era, and it's completely fictional. Enjoy :)

Liz's POV
I get my call time to film my next scene. As I'm walking to set, my phone rings. I see it's my boyfriend, James, and quickly answer it.

"Hi." I smile.

"Liz, hi." James says.

"How are you?" I ask.

"I'm good." James says.

"How's New Jersey?" I ask.

"Same as usual." James says.

"I really miss you. Ugh, this long distance thing sucks." I complain.

"Yeah." James says.

"You sure you're okay?" I ask.

"Uh huh." James says.

"Alright baby. I've gotta go because I'm about to film a scene." I say.

"Cool." James says.

"I'll call you later." I say.

"Yep." James says.

I take a deep breath.

"James, I love you." I say nervously.

There's silence.

"We, uh, need to talk." James says awkwardly.

"Oh, okay. Right now? Because I'm kind of about to film-" I try.

"I'm breaking up with you, Liz." James says.

"W-what?" I stammer.

"I'm sorry, this isn't working for me." James says.

"I- but, I thought-" I choke up.

"I've gotta go. Bye." James hangs up the phone.

"Bye." I say.

Ariana runs up to me as I walk on the set.

"Where have you been? The directors just sent me to go find you." Ariana says.

"Sorry." I murmur.

"You look like you're about to cry. You good?" Ariana asks.

"Yeah." I nod.

"Sure?" Ariana asks.

"James just dumped me." I blurt out.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" Ariana asks.

"Liz Gillies and Avan Jogia, at your mark in 2." The director calls.

"I'll be fine." I say to Ariana before walking to my mark next to Avan.

"Hey McGillz." Avan grins.

"Hey." I nod at him.

"How you doing?" Avan asks.

"Perfect." I flash him a fake smile.

"Good to hear." Avan smiles.

"Quiet on set."

"Rolling."

"Take 1."

"Action."

We start our scene but I mess up a little way through. We keep repeating the scene every time I make a mistake.

I start to panic and my hands are sweating.

"Cut!"

"I'm sorry." I apologise.

My make up artist starts touching up my make up.

"Are you okay?" She asks quietly.

"Yeah." I say, even though I'm shaking all over.

"Are you sure?" She asks.

"Mhm." I hum.

The director walks over once I've had my make up done.

"We need to focus the cameras for your coverage, Liz." He says.

"Okay." I nod.

"Don't blink." He says.

"Yep." I say.

"Don't move." He says sternly.

"I'm trying." I say and my voice breaks.

"You're shaking." He says, frustrated.

"I know I need-" I start.

"Shut up." He snaps.

"Sorry." I murmur.

"Stop flinching." He groans.

"I'm doing my best." I say as my lip quivers.

"You're not." He says through gritted teeth.

"I can't do this." I cry, breaking down in front of the entire cast and crew.

"Well that's tough because you have to. So dry your tears and grow some balls because you're staying right here until we finish this scene." He says.

"No." I say strongly before running off set with shaky legs.

I make it into the stair well but fall against the wall after the door swings shut.

I hold my knees to my chest and try to take deep breaths.

Suddenly, Avan bursts in.

"You're alright. I've got you." Avan immediately sits besides me and pulls me into his lap.

"I'm sorry I ruined the scene." I say shakily.

"That does not matter." Avan says, wrapping his arms around me.

"I can't believe I did that." I say.

"Forget about it right now. Deep breaths." Avan says, rubbing my back.

After a while, I calm down.

"Thank you." I smile.

"You're welcome." Avan smiles. "Now what got you so worked up?"

"James dumped me. He was the love of my life." I whine.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Liz." Avan says sympathetically.

"I'll get over him eventually." I say.

"Of course you will. You deserve so much better than him." Avan says, wiping my cheeks with his thumbs.

I look up to meet his eyes.

He kisses my forehead.

I giggle and blush, looking down.

"Shall we get back out there?" Avan asks.

"Yeah." I nod.

He helps me up before holding the door open for me as we walk back out onto set.
