Aria's POV
I'm tidying my bedroom.

Mom and Dad walk in.
"It's tidy in here." Mom says, looking around.
"Or did you just change the color of the lights so we can't see the mess?" Dad teases.
"No, it's tidy." I laugh.
"Makes a change." Mom says.
"Dinners in 15 minutes, by the way." Dad says.
"Okay." I nod.
"It's tacos." Dad says.
"Your favourite." Mom adds.
"Cool." I say.
"With cookie dough and ice cream sundaes for dessert." Mom says.
"What's the occasion?" I ask.
"We don't need an occasion to celebrate our little darling." Dad smiles.
"Exactly. We love you so much, Aria. Aw, our sweet teenage baby girl." Mom smiles.
"What the hell is going on?" I ask.
"We've got some news." Dad says.
"Right...." I trail off.
"We, are going to have another child." Mom says slowly.
"Wow! That's so cool." I smile, hugging them both. "Are you pregnant yet?"
"We're actually going to adopt a child." Dad says.
"That's awesome. When?" I ask.
"Next week. We've signed all the paperwork." Mom says.
"Is it a baby?" I ask.
"She's five years old." Dad says.
"It's a girl?! I'm so happy for you guys!" I smile.
Timeskip - 4 Days Later
We're at the mall getting things for the new child.
"What are we getting?" I ask Dad as we follow Mom around a baby store.
"Well Ella is 5 years old so we're just picking up toys and clothes, really." Dad says.
"Michael, we need to do the basket." Mom says.
"What basket?" I ask.
"Usually when you foster or adopt a child, you make up a welcome basket of comforting items for them." Mom says.
"I've seen that on Tik tok." I say.
"Do you want to help pick out some things for it?" Mom asks.
"Uh sure." I say.
