Liz's POV
I'm lying in bed and scrolling on my iPad when Michael walks into our bedroom from the bathroom.

"Hi." Michael says, switching on the bedside lamp and turning out the main light.

"Hi." I say quietly, briefly looking up at him before looking down again.

"I missed you today." Michael says, getting under the blankets.

"Yeah." I nod, keeping my eyes on the iPad screen.

"What, you not going to say it back?" Michael teases, nudging my arm.

"I missed you." I repeat back to him.

"I feel I've hardly seen you since the weekend. Did you have a good day?" Michael asks.

"Sure." I say, not really listening.

"Well, I had a crazy day at the studio. In and out of meetings non stop. Sorry I couldn't be home for dinner." Michael says.

"It's fine." I reply plainly.

"Liz, what's wrong?" Michael asks.

"Nothing." I lie.

"Okay, if you say so." Michael says, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

I move out from under his embrace.

"Can you... not." I murmur.

"Are you okay?" Michael asks.

"Yeah, I am. But I just don't want that." I tell him.

"Okay. Are you struggling today or is it personal?" Michael asks.

"Both." I sigh.

"What have I done? And please tell me the truth." Michael asks.

"Don't pretend that you don't know." I scoff.

"What are you talking about? Whatever it is that I've done I didn't mean it." Michael says.

"I'm sure you didn't." I roll my eyes.

"Tell me what I did then!" Michael exclaims, clearly upset.

"I know you're speaking to that woman." I confess.

"What woman?" Michael frowns.

"Just admit it! You've got a side piece!" I yell.

"Liz..."

"I knew it. I fucking knew it." I snap, standing up.

"I don't have a side piece! And I don't even know what's made you think that I do." Michael says.

"I saw that woman's name pop up on your phone multiple times! And then you arranged to meet with her tomorrow!" I yell at him.

"What woman?!" Michael yells back.

"Ciara!" I yell.

"She's someone I work with! I was arranging a meeting for tomorrow morning in the studio. How do you even know that I made those plans?" Michael asks.

"Because... I just do." I lie.

"You went through my phone, didn't you." Michael narrows his eyes at me.

"I.. okay, I did, but that hardly compares to having an affair." I sneer.

"I'm not having an affair! And I'm incredibly hurt that you think I would do that to you." Michael explains.

"Save it." I shake my head.

"I'm really offended that you went through my phone, Liz. That's private and you've invaded on that." Michael says.
