~NOTES~
Okay I found this draft of an old request and it was two sentences long so it took some time. I know it's a Dynasty fic but I've used whatever characters I like, despite the show's storylines. It's dramatic, be prepared. Enjoy :)

1:30 PM

Since the Carrington-Ridley mansion was having the garden redone, Fallon had decided to throw Lauren's first birthday party at the manor. And after ten minutes, she was regretting it.

"Liam, this is so not how this was supposed to go." Fallon complained, picking Lauren up off the rug when she noticed she was getting her outfit dirty.

"Babe, give it a chance. Look how beautiful all of these decorations are. You spent so much time planning this party." Liam reminded her.

"And she only wants to play with the empty cardboard box from the streamers." Fallon whined and Liam laughed, hiding the box from Lauren's view.

"Look at the butterflies, Lauren." Liam cooed, pointing up at the butterfly shaped balloons that were hanging from the ceiling.

"Bubber-sies." Lauren babbled incoherently and mostly just spitting as she also pointed up at the ceiling.

"Good try!" Liam tickled her belly and she laughed loudly.

"I wasn't sure on the theme at first, but I suppose it is cute." Fallon shrugged, kissing Lauren's head as she looked around at the brightly colored insect themed decorations.

"Fallon, darling, I thought you could use a drink." Alexis danced over to the couple, holding out a flute of champagne.

"I can't drink, mom." Fallon rolled her eyes, adjusting Lauren on her hip.

"A little drink never hurt. I still had one every now and then when you were this young. Actually, I had a few during the pregnancy." Alexis chuckled, still offering the glass flute.

"Mom, no." Fallon shook her head definitely and Lauren leaned forward in her arms to push the glass away.

"As you wish." Alexis shrugged, sipping the champagne herself.

"Mama." Lauren looked up at Fallon and gently tugged a loose strand of her hair.

"What is it, princess?" Fallon asked her.

"I think she might be a bit bored." Liam chuckled. "How about I take her outside to play on the bounce house."

"Okay, but be really careful, Liam! We haven't even cut the cake yet or had photos taken and I can't frame the pictures if our baby is covered in bruises." Fallon rambled, handing Lauren over.

"No bruises, I promise!" Liam smiled, kissing Fallon's cheek and heading outside with Lauren.

"Why did you go with insects? Not that it isn't... lovely." Alexis asked with a false smile.

"Lauren is obsessed with insects so it just made sense. There was no point in picking a theme that she doesn't like." Fallon explained calmly, having already expected criticisms.

"I still think you should have gone with my idea." Alexis raised her eyebrows, poking at a stuffed bumble bee that was sitting on the back of one of the dining chairs.

"Diamonds and dollars wasn't quite what Liam and I had in mind, mother." Fallon sighed, keeping her witty remarks to herself about Alexis' hideous theme ideas.

"Suit yourself." Alexis replied with an unbothered smile, watching Blake and Cristal walk in before she walked away.

"The place looks beautiful, sweetheart." Blake smiled genuinely, having seen the manor plain of decoration only a few hours back before Fallon had made everyone leave.
