A week and some days went by, and Ci and I flew back to Seattle to stay at my place a few days ago. Today was the one-month mark since Ci got her concussion. Usually, she would have therapy on Saturdays, but her therapist had to cancel due to a family emergency. My friend Brian was having a small get-together at his house tonight. So he invited us. This would be her first time meeting him and the guys. I won't lie, I was a little nervous. I'm hoping they don't make her uncomfortable with any of the questions they may ask.

Right now, we were getting ready to go to Brian's place. I was just about done. I dressed in something nice but casual: one of my Good Man brand shirts, a pair of blue jeans, and my all-white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. Before I went downstairs, I sprayed some cologne and grabbed my wallet and a jacket to take with me since it was a little chilly out. I sat in the living room and waited for Ci to come down. After about ten minutes, she came down in a pair of True Religion skinny jeans and a black button-up long-sleeved shirt paired with a pair of black Givenchy heels. Her hair was straightened and styled into a half-up half-down hairstyle. She looked beautiful tonight, even with no makeup. She's still a twelve out of ten.

"You look beautiful, baby girl." She stepped down from the bottom step and made her way over to me. She blushed and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"You don't think it's too much? You know, the heels and the accessories?" She had on a small Cuban link diamond encrusted chain with a matching bracelet on her left wrist. I shook my head and chuckled.

"No, it's not too much. You look great. You're just thinking too hard right now. Calm down." My arms wrapped around her waist as I kissed her lips. She smiled softly and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Okay. I'll take your word for it." She kissed my lips before pulling away and unwrapping her arms from my neck.

We made our way to the front door, and she grabbed her coat off the coat rack and her black Chanel bag from the table.  I was driving so I grabbed my car keys out of the key bowl, and we made our way out the door. After I locked the house, we made our way to the car. Once she got in, I closed the door and walked over to the driver's side. I got in and began pulling out of the driveway. Brian's house was about a forty-five-minute drive from mine. On the way there, I connected my phone to Bluetooth to play music. We rode in comfortable silence except for the music playing.

"I'm kind of nervous to meet your friends." I glanced at her quickly before turning my eyes back to the road.

"Why?"

"Because I don't want them to judge me, and what if they don't like me?" She pouted, causing me to chuckle and grab her hand to caress it gently.

"Don't worry about that. I'm sure they'll love you once they get to know you." She smiles as I reassure her that she has nothing to worry about.

When we get there, I'll have to talk to them. They're very straightforward, and I don't want them to overstep their boundaries. Asking questions is okay, but I don't want them to push it. I know they only want the best for me. Especially after everything I went through with Aston. So I know they'll ask her questions to see if she's genuine.

I interlock our fingers and bring her hand up to my lips to kiss the back of it. I glanced at her once more to see her blushing. Thirty-five minutes later, we pulled up to Brian's house. I turned the car off. We sat in the car for a couple of minutes before heading to the front door. After knocking, we heard a voice along with footsteps coming towards the door. Brian opened it with a smile on his face.
