Day of the Week: Wednesday
Location: Seattle, Washington
Place: The FirmCiara
After walking into the building, I walked over to the front desk. There was an older lady who looked to be in her mid forty's on the phone. She held her index finger up, signaling me to wait. As I waited, I looked around the firm. From my observation, Russ' employees seemed to be pretty busy today."Ma'am?" I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Are you here to see someone?" She asked.
"Uh, yes. I'm here to see Mr. Wilson." I smiled, adjusting Zahir on my hip. She dialed a number on the keypad of the telephone before speaking.
"Mr. Wilson, there's a lovely lady here to see you." She glanced over at me while smirking.
"I'll send her down. You're welcome, sir." She hung up the phone.
"You must be the reason he's been in such a good mood lately. He's usually an asshole."
"Really? I would've never thought that. He's so sweet."
"He has his days, but he's a good guy nonetheless. Ashley, would you please take her up to Mr. Wilson's office?" She called over a brunette woman with green eyes who happened to be passing by.
"Sure. Follow me." I followed her to the elevator, and she pushed the button to go up to the tenth floor. Zahir started to frown up.
"Don't be scared. Mommy's got you." He pouted before laying his head on my shoulder.
"So you're here to visit Mr. Wilson, huh?" I turned to face her.
"Yeah..." Like it wasn't obvious.
"You must be one of his sisters."
"No. He only has one sister, Anna." I looked at her strangely.
"Oh." She laughed.
"Excuse me. Sometimes I forget." I let out an awkward chuckle. The elevator stopped, and I followed Ashely off. She walked us down a hallway before stopping in front of his door.
"Here you are."
"Thanks." I smiled politely. She rolled her eyes before storming off. That puzzled me. I don't know what that was about, and I honestly didn't want to find out. I shook it off and knocked on the door, instantly forgetting about what just happened. A few seconds later, he came to the door.
"Hey, Mr. Wilson."
"Hey. You're a mess." He grinned, showing his bright white teeth.
"I brought you lunch since I knew you weren't gonna be able to go out. I didn't want you to starve." He took the bag from my hand, letting me in.
"Thank you, baby girl. You're the best." He kissed my cheek.
"Hey, lil' man." He was still pouty about his ride on the elevator.
"What's wrong with him?"
"He didn't like the elevator." He took him from me and sat down on the couch he had in his office. I had never been here before. So it was my first time seeing how nice it was. He had a flat-screen TV, which looked to be around 60 inches, mounted onto the wall in the seating area. A glass coffee table with several magazines on it sat in front of the couch, and multiple art portraits hung along the walls with other decor. What stood out to me the most was the wide view of the city. I always liked looking out into the city. It was such a beautiful and relaxing sight to see.
