"Yin, are you okay?" Jack asked while we were in the gym and I jogged on the treadmill.
"Yeah," I answered briefly, not even looking at him.
"Are you sure?"
"Did I not look okay?" I asked him back.
"You went to the gym almost everyday this week. What's wrong with you?"
"Are you heartbroken?"
I chuckled at his question and pressed the speed button to make it faster. "There's no reason to be heartbroken," I replied and I didn't keep track of how long I had been running on this treadmill while allowing the sweat to relax me. I suppose doing that was the simplest way for me to hide the uncomfortable feelings that were developing inside of me every single day.
Fuck that.
What's wrong with me? Why do I keep thinking about him? Or was there something wrong with my heart? I mean, I didn't feel well?
Damn it. I should be focusing on my drama that will start to shoot next week but my mind keeps thinking about the same person over and over again.
Ring Ring Ring
"Hello, War. Where are you?" Jack said as he answered the call, making my heart suddenly feel more weird when I heard the shorty's name and plugged my ear to hear their conversation.
"Okay, you just came in. I'm with Yin," Jack muttered before hanging up the call.
"Your friend?" I purposely asked even though obviously I knew who he was.
"Yeah, War. He came here."
I cleared my throat and kept jogging on the treadmill, trying not to show my interest but I kept throwing a glance at the door entrance.
"Are...you okay with him?" I asked and from the corner of my eyes, I could sense that Jack gave me an odd look.
"What do you mean? Of course, I'm okay with him."
"Oh."
Silence.
I didn't know how many minutes passed but I could hear the shorty's voice from behind, making my heart feel weird again and again. There was no explanation. I didn't know why I felt like that. No. I know. Maybe. I shook my head in an effort to make the strange sensation my heart was experiencing go away. I continued running after pressing the speed button, not even looking at them. Just hearing their voices.
"Hello, phi," I heard the shorty's greeted Jack, using his cute voice.
I smirked while listening to that. Did he think he was cute? Did he forget he was heartbroken a few days ago because of the same person? Such a baby.
"Are you okay to come here?" Jack asked him.
"Yeah, phi. I mean, I also want to exercise," he replied, using the soft tone again which made me shake my head.
"Which exercise do you want to do?"
"Mmm, I think I will use the treadmill?" He said and clearly he was also not sure what he wanted to do. Without a doubt, he simply came here because he wanted to spend time with his sunshine or whatsoever. So childish.
"Oh okay. You can go on. I will go to the toilet for a while."
As Jack walked away, I gave him a brief peek and saw him approach the treadmill next to me like a kid who had no idea what he was doing. I smirked a little as it was crystal clear that he was a medical professional who is completely ignorant of anything but the medical field.
