Dad had woken me up the next morning and told me we were going somewhere and to pack a bag. This was the first time we had done something like this after my mother died. He had told me to pack some essentials and get into the car. We were out of the house in less than 20 minutes which was record time for us.

We were driving for what seemed like hours. You could hear a pin drop in my car, that is how silent it was.

" Are we going to Grandma?" I asked but he didn't respond.

I started to become scared. My dad has never been this silent on a road trip. We usually have music blaring and we sing our hearts but this was different. This is the first time he has ever done something like this. We then turned down a dark road going through the forest. "This is where my dad is going to go psychotic and kill me," I had thought to myself.

After driving down this road for 10 minutes, we came upon a house. It was very large ,almost mansion-like. The part of the woods we stopped at was beautiful. Trees surrounded the house like it was the house's life source. It was absolutely stunning. We walked up to the front door and knocked.

" Hey, Dave. It has been too long my friend." said the tall and very handsome stranger.

"Hey Connor, I need you to take Nevada for a while if you don't mind." said my dad.

" Dad, no. What will happen to you?" I said turning my head towards him and starting to cry.

The man named Connor had taken me in and introduced me to his twin brother Landon. When I saw Landon my world stopped spinning. It was like my world only revolved around him. When I looked into his ocean-blue eyes, I could see my whole world colliding with his.

" Hello. I am Landon. I am assuming you have met my brother by the way you are looking at him with resentment." said the tall handsome man.

" How does my dad know you two and why did he bring me here of all places?" I asked confused and ignored his comment.

" We both have known your dad for a while. He helped us when we needed him the most and we promised to do the same for him," said Connor.

" Let's get you all set in your bedroom." motioned Landon.

We walked up the stairs onto the second floor and down the forever-long hallway that was decorated with old and what looked like handmade paintings.

" This is your room, Nevada. It is quaint but it will do." we walked into the room.

The bedroom was not at all quaint. The bedroom was the size of mine and my father's bedroom and I had my own bathroom.

" Thank you, Landon. I appreciate what you and your brother are doing for my dad but why are you doing it?" I asked.

" It is truly not a problem and like I had said before, your dad did us a solid so we are doing him a solid," he responded with a smirk.
