Chapter 21

" What do you mean, Grandma? What haven't you told me?" I asked her as I became angrier and angrier.

" There are a lot of things I haven't told you and I was forced to keep it to myself," Grandma said as she started bowing her head.

" Who forced you?" I asked her, closely watching her face.

" Your dad...... and mom," she responded with a sigh.

I sat there in disbelief. My mom and dad both knew about the supernatural, specifically vampires.

" Did you know Connor?" I asked him, trying to stay as calm as possible.

" Yeah, I did. Do you remember when you were dropped off at our house for the first time?" he asked me.

" Of course I do. I can still feel the emotions from that day. Why?" I questioned.

" Your dad told me that someone was coming after him and he didn't want you to get caught in the crossfire. He told me that he made a deal with Samantha and he couldn't get her what she wanted. So, she told him that she would kill you if she didn't get what she wanted. I don't know what she wanted but apparently it meant alot to her and she thought that your dad could get it for her," Connor explained with the regret of not telling me sooner.

" It was a spell," grandma said reluctantly.

" What spell, Julia?" Connor asked, now intrigued.

Grandma sat there in silence. I tried to read her mind but she had me blocked.

" A love spell. It's not black magic but it is one of the most difficult versions of magic to perfect," grandma finally said.

" Of course. It all makes sense now," Connor mumbled under his breath.

" What?" I questioned.

" Alright this might sound crazy but I think I know what she is planning," Connor confidently exclaimed.

" Well...," grandma and I both at the same time.

" Samantha was with Landon in the 1920's right?"

" Yeah?"

" She is trying to reignite the feeling he had for her to make him fall in love with her again but no matter what she does it won't work and here's why. Landon never loved her so in order for that spell to work there has to be a romantic feeling already present within the mate. He was with her because he was lonely and needed someone to feed on whether he wanted to admit or not," Connor then explained to me.

" So then why did she turn me?" I then questioned ,confused.

" She didn't think you would survive the turn because not all do. Her way of thinking is if she kills you, Landon will need someone to fall back on," Connor then continued.

For the next 20 minutes all we could talk about was how we were going to take care of her and how we were going to tell Landon. Connor then told us that if we take care of Samantha, we could then knock the council off our radar.

We then came up with a plan which could either go one of two ways if we don't play our cards right.We can either all come out of this alive or we all die in a split second. After what seemed like hours of arguing, Connor finally said I could help and fight. I just have to get my strength back first.

Connor sent a message to Samantha telling her a time and place to meet with Landon 'alone' but instead she is going to get both Landon and Connor. I will show up after they had her restrained so that I could inject her a potion of grandma's creation which should kill her. If it doesn't work then we rip out her heart. It's a little gruesome but I am ready to end this once and for all.
