I woke up the next morning in Landon's room. I rolled over and didn't see him lying in bed but asleep on his couch. I had sat up, turned my body, and tried to get out of bed but I was weak.
" Woah, don't push yourself, Nevada," Landon sprung up off the couch and rushed to my aid, " You can stay in my bed today. You need your rest. Your body took a pretty tough beating yesterday."
" What about school?" I questioned.
" We pulled you out of school. With you being a vampire, there is too much of a risk of this happening again. Connor and I are just taking extra precautions."
" Where is Connor by the way?"
" He went out for a blood run. We figured that you need something more than animal blood."
" But you guys don't drink it. Hell, I don't even drink human blood."
" We know that. That is why we are all going to start drinking it. After what happened yesterday, it showed that Connor and I aren't strong enough to protect you or hell even ourselves."
" I don't care about protecting me, I only care about protecting you guys," I had said trying to change his mind.
" No. We are a family. And in this family we have to do whatever it takes to protect each other, even if that means switching our diet." Landon had started looking at me dead in the eyes.
" Okay. Let's say I lose control."
" You won't lose control. Connor and I will make sure of it. We are family. Family never gives up on family."
He grabbed my hand with one of his hands, and put his other on my thigh. At that moment we both felt some sparks flying. Landon slowly looked down at my hand, looked up at me, and quickly let go.
" I'm going to grab you something to drink," he said flustered as he turned around and walked away.
I leaned back and sunk into his bed. Am I actually falling in love with Landon? I definitely felt some sparks fly when he put his hand on my thigh. The real question was if Landon felt the same way that I did.
I heard Connor walk into the house. Landon started talking to Connor in the kitchen. I knew it was wrong to eavesdrop but I had to know what they were talking about.
" If we do this Connor, there is no going back," Landon said to Connor with a little worry in his voice.
" It's fine Landon. We'll help each other. We just have to make sure that what happened in 1925 doesn't happen again." Connor said.
The boys continued their conversation downstairs. I had to stop myself from listening in. I didn't want to know what happened in 1925 but in some way, it intrigued me. I have always wanted to learn more about the boys' past but I felt like going back that far was overstepping. Landon started walking up the stairs towards me. I could smell the blood. I could tell it wasn't much but it was enough to help heal me faster. He walked into the room and handed me the glass. I slowly sipped on the delicious red substance trying not to glug and spill any on his silk bed sheets.
" What happened in 1925?" I asked calmly.
" It depends on which one of us you ask," he said with a smirk.
" I want to know what happened to Connor. Tell me."
