Chapter Twenty-Five: Iris West-Allen

Central City, 2019, Star Labs

Minutes Later,

Iris slowly sat up, looking around at her surroundings as she tried to remember what had happened to her. She was in the electrical room, which had numerous sparking panels and fried electronics scattered throughout it. She had come here with Sherlqoue to find out what was going on with the comms when...

Thawne.

Iris quickly rushed to her feet, immediately running out into the hall, even though she had no idea where she was going.

" I'll check the Cortex first, maybe I can get some security footage from there." she thought, her body instinctively moving in that direction.

As she raced there, Iris' mind began to flood with thoughts as her heart pounded rapidly in her chest, her fear that Nora was hurt fueling her every step.

Thawne said that he needed Nora for his plan, but what does that mean? Is he going to hurt her? Has he already hurt her? Or worse?

Despite not knowing where her daughter was, Iris could feel that something was wrong. She didn't know how, or from what, but she knew that Nora was in trouble.

Nora's in danger, and I have to find her before it's too late. And my best bet at doing that, is to stop Thawne.

She saw no sign of him on her way to the Cortex, or any sign that he had been through there at all, not that that was surprising though. He wasn't typically the type to be loud when he entered a room. When she turned the corner to enter the Cortex, she saw the person that she had been looking for.

Eobard Thawne sat in Cisco's desk chair, flipping a small metal object repeatedly in the air before catching it over and over again. He looked like he would've been stroking a cat had he had one.

" Iris, so nice of you to finally join me." he said, not getting up from his seat.

Iris quickly grabbed the same weapon that she had during the last break-in from under the main console, aiming the energy cannon at his head.

" Give me one good reason as to why I shouldn't blow your head off right now." she demanded fiercely.

" That wouldn't be wise of you Iris. I mean, at least wait until you have all the details about what I've done first."

" I'm done with your mind games." she stated. " I'm not going to fall for any of your tricks, or your manipulation. Now put your hands up and walk to the door, or I'll shoot you."

She looked him up and down, still seeing that his cocky demeanor hadn't changed.

" It's not like you have your powers anyway."

She had noticed it in their fight in the electrical room. Thawne loved his powers, and used almost any opportunity he could to show them off, yet didn't use them once in their confrontation.

His cockyness seemed to dewhidle a little as his ego took a hit.

" As perceptive as always, Iris," he said bitterly.

" If only the rest of your family was the same way." he added, getting up and out of the his chair.

" They are, and they're certainly smart enough to see through you." Iris stated.

" The Little Runner sure wasn't."

" That's your fault, not hers. You used her big heart against her, just like you did with Barry years ago."
